The Woodlands Hospital a primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services diagnostic imaging women’s services (digital mammography and bone density studies) neurosciences pediatric care (Newborn and Level II nurseries) and surgery pathology and pulmonary services and sleep disorders. Clinical affiliations include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Radiation Treatment Center and Texas Children’s Hospital.
The ideal individual would be a strategic leader with an operational and clinical background with proven success in business development. The position will oversee our free-standing ED's in the north Houston market.
Working closely with nursing and senior leadership, the Director of Hospital Operations reports directly to the President and works in a matrix reporting environment requiring collaboration with executives and managers throughout CHI St. Luke’s as needed to support the integration and expansion of clinical programs/services to achieve the service area(s) objectives. Directly responsible for assigned areas in ancillary, support and strategic service lines to achieve specific goals/metrics as to the operational and strategic plan. Focusing on the pillars of People, Quality, Service, Stewardship and Growth assures that performance of assigned areas meet or exceed target and collaborates for the development of the organizational culture to assure the assigned facilities is an employer of choice that it excels in patient engagement, marketing, business development, growth and throughput. The incumbent will need to be actively engaged in the community, participating in Community events, Chambers of Commerce, and Civic Clubs.
Responsibilities
1. Participates in decision-making processes by collaborating with leaders from the governing body, health system mgmt., hospital leadership council, medical staff and clinical areas in developing the market’s strategic plans, budgets, resource allocation, operation plans and policies.
2. Sets strategic direction for the assigned areas, including planning and managing processes and services for these disciplines to meet current and future needs. Develops and integrates these plans and processes to support the vision, mission and strategies.
3. Collaboratively creates effective and ongoing programs to monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality of care and services for assigned areas.
4. Advocates for staff in the assigned areas regarding the allocation of resources including FTE, systems, equipment and support. Provides for the development and management of operating and capital budgets for assigned areas; Responsible for overall performance according to budget.
5. Utilizing the Lean Management System directs creative strategies to reduce waste, lower costs while maintaining or enhancing quality.
6. Demonstrates and creates expectation of consistency in application of HR policies and procedures across areas.
7. Lead/manage assigned departments and functions.
8. Responsible for the maintenance and oversight of assigned contracts and leaders.
9. Responsible for the oversight and management of assigned capital projects.
10. Actively engaged in the community, participating in Community events, Chambers of Commerce, and Civic Clubs.
11. Focused on the growth and community outreach of these outpatient departments.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree and seven (7) year of experience in the discipline, five (5) of which is leadership experience.

Pay Range
$42.69 - $61.91 /hour
