Director Global Medical Affairs Cardio Pain

We are looking for someone driven by the desire to deploy their medical expertise to help people live better lives through science-led self-care.

In this role, you would join an industry-leading Medical Affairs team responsible for developing new medical insights that will be used to power our innovation pipeline, establish new claims that expand availability, and communicating science to consumers, healthcare professionals and regulatory authorities.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role Director Global Med Affairs Cardio Pain are to:

  • Maintains a leadership role in understanding current and emerging science for the category, including respective treatment, prevention and other self-care measures;
  • Develops, drives and implements the long term medical/clinical strategy which maximizes brand and portfolio business opportunities for Bayer Consumer Health (BCH) (including, but not limited to new products, indications, claims messaging and registration) as well as is accountable for the medical part of the annual brand plans;
  • Responsible for medical regulatory medical safety and compliance (RMSC) strategic brand plans, Evidence Generation and Communication plans including patient/consumer as well as health care provider (HCP) material development, publication strategy etc;
  • Drives clinical and scientific innovation, global study plans and activation, claims initiation and substantiation;
  • Defines, owns and coordinates major scientific activities, esp. leads development of the strategy for TL management in line with therapeutic area strategic objectives and in compliance with legislation and BCH rules; leads TL development efforts on major (e.g. NPD, new claim) initiatives, incl. Advisory Boards;
  • Leads the development, communication and execution of the medical part of the RMCS strategic plans including NPD portfolio. Proactively and routinely scouts for new potential new product development (NPD) ideas which are in line with the current business strategy;
  • Responsible for acceleration, streamlining and strengthening clinical (new or line extensions) efforts so that the NPD projects can be approved more rapidly and positioned more competitively in the global marketplace;
  • Owns and co-ordinates benefit of the benefit/risk assessment for therapeutic area products;
  • Leads medical affairs input, i.e. is the medical accountable for core labeling and pharmacovigilance documents for marketed products (e.g. risk management plans and benefit analysis for risk benefit assessments);
  • Ensures medical review and approval of global promotional material;
  • Leads and supervises medical governance of respective category materials including protocols, study reports, medical information documents, publications, training materials.


WHO YOU ARE

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our life values, more specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required qualifications:

  • An advanced degree in related scientific field, MD, PhD, PharmD with eight years of experience, or MS with ten years of experience in a global healthcare organization, regional and local pharmaceutical industry in scientific function(s), esp. extensively in Medical Affairs (incl.Thought Leader management);
  • Experience in a Consumer healthcare product and strategic development environment is essential;
  • Ability to lead and influence in matrixed teams with strong relationship building and influencing skills and executive presence;
  • Strong written and oral English communication skills;
  • Strong global mindset, business acumen and organizational savviness;
  • Understanding of global, regional and local regulations and guidelines;
  • Ability to understand matters at a strategic as well as operational level;
  • Experience in due diligences for new products or acquisitions.
