SUMMARY OF ROLE
Reporting to the CEO, the Director, Education and Publications, will lead all strategic and operational activities of the Appraisal Institute's Education and Publications teams with an emphasis on the re-development and accessible delivery of the Appraisal Institute's best-in-class educational products and Publications. The Director will ensure that all education development and delivery aligns with the mission of the Appraisal Institute and contributes to a positive member experience. This role is responsible for managing a high-performing team that provides quality products, exceptional customer service, and strong collaboration with Chapters and internal teams. In the short term, this professional will be called upon to reorganize this area so as to focus on the development of education types and bringing our best-in-class education more quickly to market. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Working with Chapters, increase the development and delivery of products to serve the needs of professionals in the real property valuation and professionals with core interests in this area.
- Oversee the production, maintenance and updating of all AI education in multiple modalities. This includes Qualifying and Designation educational products as well as continuing Education and client-based education.
- Oversee the Publications area with the goal of developing an approach to content development that adds value for members, the profession, and the public.
- Develop specific workstreams such as university and group sales to add value for different member types.
- Create streamlined practices and processes that are agile and sustainable.
- Collaborate with AI staff leadership and Chapters on the development and delivery of education products and services
- Fiscal oversight and budgetary responsibility for revenue and expenditures
- Hire, train, manage, and evaluate staff at appropriate levels and in appropriate positions based on skill-sets and team needs
- Provide regular, accessible reporting on enrollments and finances through a dashboard and work with CEO to provide quarterly updates to the Board
- Continually evaluate development and delivery systems for Appraisal Institute education products and services and ensure that AI is using appropriate technology and technological integrations to maximize its customer experience and staff productivity
- Act as primary liaison to the Education Committee, interact with Chair and Vice Chair to schedule, facilitate and report minutes for Education Committee meetings and conference calls.
- Interact with members of the Education Committee, Board of Directors and Executive Committee, senior management and other committees, as may be identified by the CEO.
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLSETS, & ABILITIES YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in real estate, urban planning, or related discipline or MAI/SRA designation preferred
- 10+ years' experience in non-profit or association management, with a minimum of five years leading a high-performing teams in education development and delivery
- Management and Leadership skills to work effectively to build high performing teams in a stakeholder rich environment
- Innovative, forward thinker with creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Effective, persuasive communication skills to optimize relationships with a variety of stakeholders including members, students, staff, senior executives, board of directors, committee members, donors, and the public.
- Knowledge of legal, regulatory, ethical, managerial and organizational requirements in a non-profit environment.
- Results-oriented project and program management including leading through change
WHAT WE OFFER:
We offer an excellent benefits package including - medical, dental, vision, PTO, & 401(k), and a convenient loop location close to public transportation for when you come into the office. As well as a 37.5 hour work week. Salary range: $140,000 - $160,000/yr.
