The Digital Product Manager will identify ways to improve the value and experience of our consumers and business owners for our Air and Water product lines through digital upgrades both on-product and within our SmartHQ app. They will also bring to life digital partnerships with other leading brands in the digital space to expand our overall ecosystem. Finally, they will work within the industries to identify opportunities to apply new technologies to drive efficiencies and energy savings through digital enhancements.

How You'll Create Possibilities
The role of Digital Product Manager for Air and Water Products will lead efforts to create a software-centric product roadmap that can be executed across multiple product platforms. Utilizing a customer-first mindset, agile principles and a strong understanding of both hardware and software interaction, this role will work within the Product Line teams to develop and implement digital strategies that accommodate the initial product launch, as well as, continual over the air enhancements. Ultimately, this role will translate the needs of the consumer, customer and business into digital opportunities with a focus on improving outcomes over time and driving both loyalty and brand reputation. The Digital Product Manager role reports functionally into SmartHome and Energy Solutions but is dedicated to the HVAC, Retail AC , Commercial AC and Water Heater micro-enterprises (ME) and is responsible for helping to drive the vision and goals the micro-enterprises.
Objectives of this Role

  • Drive product features, service strategies and long-term vision to build best in class digital experience and enhancements for both on-product and within the SmartHQ App for the Air and Water micro-enterprises
  • Research, develop and execute a software centric approach to life-cycle and energy management that will allow new product introductions (NPIs), hardware and services to be extensible across the micro-enterprise and larger business
  • Utilize agile principles to develop new capabilities, partners and business models that support driving additional value for our appliance and business owners
  • Evaluate, analyze, and understand data analytics and voice of the customer through a variety of data sources and translate into actionable insights and user experiences
  • Identify outside ecosystems and coordinate digital partnership opportunities through cloud services, SDKs and APIs to maximize ecosystem benefit
  • Conduct user research and usability studies, collaborate with designers, developers and research teams and translate those learnings into user stories that support intuitive product experiences
  • Leverage the catalog of smart home capabilities and use as building blocks to coordinate ecosystem revenue growth and energy management across the Air and Water micro-enterprises, accelerate speed to market and create value faster
  • Engage industry organizations to understanding leading trends and identify opportunities for applications of new digital enhancements to drive differentiation and leadership for our products
  • Identify key catalysts that drive connections, connection rate and active users, as well as, being involved in IOT Thought leadership, brand building and driving our overall digital reputation

  • Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
  • Partner with product, mobile, embedded, UI/UX and cloud resources to scope and prioritize activities, manage the roadmap and backlog to ensure delivery of all capabilities on time and per specification
  • Oversee and manage requirements discovery, solution design, user story writing, feature development, and user acceptance testing
  • Work closely with product marketing to help develop positioning and messaging to ensure differentiation from competitors
  • Partner with cross functional teams regularly to ensure alignment on feature development, prioritization and execution as well as identifying potential issues and solutions
  • Monitor and evaluate Digital Product functions and SmartHQ app performance to create test and learn opportunities that evaluate new functions and features, assess customer feedback and work with cross-function team to execute or pivot as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other Product Managers in the organization to expose future enhancements, identify global software features and develop digital ecosystem revenue opportunities

What You'll Bring to Our Team
Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Digital Product management or similar
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or relevant experience equivalent

Preferred Skills
  • Masters degree is preferred
  • Digital Lifecycle Management and Solutions- Development of both specific and broad enterprise implementations.
  • Experience using product management tools such as Zenhub, Jira, Etc.
  • Experience writing SQL queries, experience with back-end and front-end programming languages, such as Java, HTML, CSS, Angular JS
  • Comfortable and effective working in a matrixed environment with good organization skills, and a demonstrated ability to build collaboration multi-disciplined across teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a responsive and proactive approach.
  • Flexible and skilled working with commercial and operational activities in support of growth and development of the overall platform to meet the dynamic needs of the marketplace and our customers.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Strong analytical, prioritization, and negotiating skills
  • Usability and customer-focused design experience
  • Working knowledge of digital architecture development, back-end and front-end development
  • Hardware & Software development experience
  • Experience identifying and developing new partnerships with adjacent and non-adjacent industries
  • Passionate about change, building great products/services and solving customer and business problems and a strategic mindset to drive both short term and long-term goals
