Open to Remote Work except in South Dakota, Vermont and West Virginia.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $172,600.00 in our lowest geographic market to $310,700.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills and experience.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a high performing Director Data Engineering to play a critical role in the development of Nike's Enterprise Data & Analytics capabilities. You will lead organization with focus on the development of scalable data and analytic capabilities for Finance, HR and other corporate functions at NIKE. You will work on development projects related to revenue and margin, expense management, Payables and Receivables Analysis, and other financial analytic constructs. As a leader, you are thoughtful, aspirational, and adept at motivating teams through ambiguous situation to successful outcomes.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON

  • Lead delivery of scalable, maintainable and performant data and analytics solutions. Design and build reusable components, frameworks and libraries at scale to support analytics data products
  • Lead, Inspire, Coach and Grow team of engineers.
  • Partner with other engineering teams across Nike, to collaborate on specific technologies and build out various data sets together. Partner with product managers and analytics leaders to help prioritize work
  • Leading discussions to scale out data architecture to process large data sets, and solve various data challenges. Partner with enterprise platform and architecture, strategizing together to drive roadmaps and use standards and platforms at Nike.
  • Adapt new and emerging technologies to enable first-class solution. Drive Engineering Excellence through continuous improvement of People, Process and Technology

WHAT YOU BRING
  • 10+ years of experience in large-scale software development of which 4+ years experience working with Hadoop and Big Data processing frameworks (Spark, Hive, Nifi, Spark-Streaming, Flink, Kinesis, Kafka etc.)
  • 4+ years of management or team lead experience
  • Strong experience in building scalable, real-time, and high-performant data and analytic solutions on cloud platform
  • Experience working in AWS environment primarily EMR, S3, Kinesis, Redshift, Athena. Strong experience with relational SQL and programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java
  • Strong experience with relational data modeling schemas such as Star, Snowflake, or 3rd Normal. Experience with data warehouses/RDBMS like Snowflake & Teradata
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, data architecture, and technical designs.
  • Has a strong problem solving and analytical approach
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, results driven environment with distributed teams. Experience working in Agile and Scrum development process
  • Able to influence and communicate optimally, both verbally and written, with team members and business partners
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience in related field
