Job Details:
The Director Commercial Strategy and Planning is responsible both for strategic and day-to-day tactical responsibilities. They will report directly to the International, Chief Commercial Officer. This role will have the following critical responsibilities:
  • Lead International Commercial Sales Channel planning and strategy to include support for customer Top-to-Top meetings, Commercial KPI builds, Identify, and deploy international channel planning and customer growth strategy to drive a stronger P&L for our business. They will be responsible for commercial activation activities, execution of the International Business Unit's Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and the team's attainment of international business goals. This role will continue to be the bridge between Commercial Strategy with Regional Commercial and Global Sales Teams.
  • Provide commercial strategic direction for regional sales organization which includes pricing strategy, channel expansion prioritization, 'where to play' in driving commercial growth game plan for International Business Unit.
  • Lead trade marketing team based in regional and provide thought leadership for regional commercial team.
  • Lead the process of organizing a regular cadence of communication for International commercial organization such as newsletter and performance tracking.
  • Lead activities that drive commercial needs for executive level meetings including board, quarterly business reviews and regional QBRs. Craft executive level storytelling and presentation, such as Board Decks, QBRs and any strategic high level within the organization and external.
  • This role will also act as a principal liaison and conduit for Joint Venture partner visits to corporate headquarter.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills combined with a balance of commercial strategic thinking and strong execution. Problem-solving skills and experience with senior level presentations, meeting planning, and communication across various audiences is required. Additionally, they should be a self-starter with exceptional attention to detail, strong initiative, and critical thinking skills, and an ability to motivate others to Innovative thinking and agile project management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • This position will play a key role in leading the development, organization, and execution of executive and senior level meetings including board meetings, quarterly business reviews and international business trips.
  • The role will serve as a strategic advisor by bringing together needs, action items, and follow-up and connecting key-stakeholders for strategically relevant long-range growth implementation in emerging markets.
  • This position will serve as a liaison for executives, senior leaders, and Joint Venture partners by leading all efforts and aspects of the JV partner World Headquarter experience. This will include creating and executing a meaningful agenda and educating teams to allow for relevant and engaging conversations.
  • Commercial Strategic Planning that will help to identify best route to market, guideline, key strategic focus, priorities, supply, and pricing strategy in collaboration with cross functional team.

  • Be a voice for the field teams (QSR, Retail, Distributor), customer & internal business partners.
  • Lead and collaborate with key stakeholders on strategy development and executional sales elements of brands/categories throughout the planning process.
  • Utilize reporting to monitor International AOP performance and offer insights on areas of opportunity.
  • Analyze business results through various sales, industry, and category insight reports for the International BU
  • Participate in sales planning process and manage product allocation when necessary.
  • Provide key inputs into the S&OP process by providing customer/category intelligence.
  • Coordinate and manage forecasting performance review for international business unit.
  • Utilize reporting to track sales performance and achieve KPI goal attainment.
  • Provides inputs for consideration in the demand and financial forecast processes.
  • Collaborate with field sales to assist in strategy execution and goal attainment.
  • Coordinate and communicate relevant information used for forecasting and deploying inventory to supply planning partners.
  • Key interactions include Commercial Sales, Marketing, R&D, Innovation, Global Sourcing, Trade Lanes, Global Trade and Compliance
  • Manages ad-hoc VP/Director requests.
  • Values, establishes, nurtures, and maintains productive working relationships with internal stakeholders.

Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or master's degree in quantitative field preferred
Experience: Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in customer/trade marketing, sales, marketing & sales analytics, or category management. Demonstrated financial acumen, with joint growth planning experience a plus
Communication Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills; Strong influencing and negotiating skills; Strong ability to articulate complex information in a concise manner and with proper context
Demonstrated ability to partner with and influence cross-functional team members.
Computer Skills: Intermediate-Advanced level for MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Teams; prior experience with Tyson CRM preferred.
Special Skills: Excellent planning and project management skills; Strong Excel and data manipulation skills; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Business acumen and ownership; Able to effectively maneuver through ambiguous situations.
Travel: Some travel is required, up to 25% of time.
