LoveToKnow Media is seeking a Director, Commerce Editorial to join our growing Commerce team. This critical role will be responsible for owning, defining, and expanding the ecosystem of commerce-driven editorial at LoveToKnow.com and across LoveToKnow Media's suite of properties. The Director will work closely with the VP of Commerce, existing Commerce Editorial Staff, and the GM of LoveToKnow.com, with a particular focus on growing LoveToKnow's commerce brand, Maven.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 7 years of experience in Commerce Editorial and experience building and managing editorial teams, audience development, and scaling Commerce Editorial properties. This is an excellent chance for the right candidate to help accelerate a growing commerce brand within a well-established publisher. You'll need an entrepreneurial mindset, a strategic understanding of the positioning of publishers within the commerce ecosystem, and a vision for where LoveToKnow and Maven sit within that space.

Responsibilities:

-Work closely with the VP of Commerce and LoveToKnow.com's GM to help grow the audience on LoveToKnow's commerce brand, Maven.

-Lead Commerce Editorial strategies across our verticals and properties, including SEO-driven and social-first content.

-Manage and mentor existing Commerce writers and grow/manage freelance teams

-Help guide product evolution on Maven, working closely with the LoveToKnow GM to integrate commerce into the wider editorial landscape.

-Develop and implement strategies for continual audience development and retention, including newsletters, recirculation, and more.

-Write and edit high-traffic driving posts that produce conversion.

-Direct the internal and external promotional strategy.

-Organize and lead tentpole content creation and execution while working across multiple departments to get it done on time and in budget.

About You:

-Strong editing, research, writing, and organizational skills in the commerce space

-Proven experience building and scaling Commerce Editorial teams and managing and mentoring writers and freelancers.

-An entrepreneurial mindset: you're strategic in your editorial approach, understanding the unique opportunities (and limitations) of each publisher in the commerce space.

-Knowledge of basic SEO best practices for commerce.

-Demonstrated success developing and retaining audiences while working within a small team.

-Extreme familiarity with major affiliate networks and relationships with the larger names in the space.

-Inherent expertise with all commerce KPIs and the demonstrated ability to translate data into tangible improvements.

-Proven success with audience development, acquisition, and retention. You know content is only as good as the audience it can attract, and you're constantly finding new ways to attract and retain that audience.

Pay & Benefits:
The expected annual salary range for this position is $80k to $135k. The compensation offered is determined by various factors, including the job's geographical location and the candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience related to the position.
