Under the direction of the SVP, Cancer Care Support, this position provides thought leadership and strategy development for ACS collaborations, programs, projects and initiatives in cancer delivery and innovation. In addition to strategy development, the Director oversees planning, implementation and evaluation of ACS’ Cancer Innovation work. This position has the responsibility for directing Cancer Innovation programmatic activities working closely with a diverse range of internal and external partners and stakeholders, including other pillar teams, health systems, cancer centers and other cancer care providers, corporations, private sector organizations and government agencies. This position is an expert in health care operations, payment, and policy, and has an established network within the cancer delivery community. The director serves as a resource within and beyond the pillar. The director represents ACS externally through collaborative initiatives and international, national, and regional conferences, workgroups and meetings. The Director works closely with the SVP and development colleagues to establish cases for support and present funding opportunities to support the development of this portfolio of work.
This role is fully remote and can be based anywhere in the United States.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops strategy and programming to advance priorities in cancer care delivery and innovation.
  • Leads ACS’s Cancer Innovation programmatic efforts, working closely with teams across and beyond the Patient Support Pillar.
  • Provides subject matter expertise internally and externally to inform improvements in cancer care delivery.
  • Monitors science and trends, emerging issues, and best practices for improving cancer care delivery.
  • Monitors the external landscape in Cancer Innovation to inform strategy development and new opportunities.
  • Liaises with ACS CANS and ACS Discovery team members to align on policy and cancer care delivery research
  • Develops scientific publications, position papers, policy documents. Develops and delivers professional presentations.
  • Works closely with Patient Support Business Operations team to manage and oversee the Cancer Innovation budget.
  • Conducts special projects and initiatives as needed.

FORMAL KNOWLEDGE

  • MPH or equivalent experience in cancer care delivery, quality, implementation, value-based care, health care innovation.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in planning/implementing cancer care delivery initiatives; health care operations, payment, and policy.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging scientific evidence in Cancer Innovation.
  • Established network within cancer care delivery community.

The starting rate is $127,000 to $145,000. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
