Job Title: -- Director, Business Continuity Management

Job Summary: --Provide Business Continuity Management (BCM) leadership, coordination, and development throughout all EMCOR Operations.  Work with operating company leadership, segment leadership, functional leadership (IT, Risk, Safety, Audit, Finance, Security, HR, etc.), and executive leadership to develop and test contingency management plans to minimize impact on daily business operations in the event of a natural disaster, security breach, or other emergency.  Work with software providers to ensure company needs are met.  Communicate requirements, needs, and lessons learned and direct the Business Continuity Steering Committee. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -- 

• Business Continuity Management (BCM):

  • Continues the implementation of EMCOR’s BCM plan and strategy; coordinates/communicates the strategy and its implementation with the Business Continuity Steering Committee and operating company leadership.
  • Oversees the execution of the Business Continuity Management Cycle: Analysis, Planning, Approval and Implementation, Maintenance, Exercise and Testing.
  • Manages the BCM application solution provider relationship, engaging strategically as necessary and in line with contract parameters.
  • Integrates newly acquired companies and operations into the Business Continuity Management Program.
  • Develops and maintains Business Continuity policies, procedures, guides, and learning resources.
  • Ensures a high-level of collaboration and communication with stakeholders at all levels of the organization including Executive Leadership, Business Operations, IT, Risk, Safety, Audit, Finance, Security, HR, etc.
  • Partners with technology teams to develop, maintain, and test technology continuity and recovery plans for on-premises and hosted services.
  • Develops and conducts testing, risk assessments, business impact assessments, and continuity exercises across all EMCOR operations; review results and implement ongoing improvements.
  • Disseminates best practices, lessons learned, and improvement plans captured from exercises or real-world events.
  • Establishes training programs to ensure participants can execute their responsibilities when needed.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and reports program status and metrics.

  • Work Environment and Physical Demands
    General office, field construction or industrial environment.  Considerable stress may occur at times.  Travel required (approximately 30-50%).

Qualifications: -- 

• B.A. / B.S. or equivalent trade experience required
• Strong interpersonal, management, communication, writing, and organizational skills
• Experience working with and communicating with executive and top management of complex organizations
• Experience operating independently with little day-to-day supervision
• 10 years minimum experience working in Business Continuity and IT Disaster Recovery
• 10 years minimum program management in medium to large geographically diverse organizations such as project management, emergency management, emergency planning, executive management, etc.
• Strong understanding of business processes
• Good fit with EMCOR’s values of integrity, discipline, transparency, mutual respect and trust, commitment to safety, and teamwork
• Business Continuity certifications are a plus
