At Starlight Care Companion our Direct Support Professionals are the heart of our company with their compassion, dependability and care.

Responsibilities

• Performing personal care tasks, including feeding, ambulation, and medical monitoring
• Assist with fostering positive relationships between individuals served and their housemates
• Ensuring client safety and maintaining a safe environment
• Encouraging self-help activities
• Accompanying clients to scheduled appointments
• Support the needs and goals of each resident by taking them to preferred leisure/recreation activities and encouraging them to socialize among peers.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Active Drivers License and personal vehicle with current automobile insurance.
• Ability to work in a group home, home-like setting
• Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
• Candidates must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to push, pull or lift up to 50lbs.

• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
