Dream Care is a family-owned human services agency, dedicated to providing high quality support services for adults with developmental disabilities in Northern California.We support individuals with developmental disabilities 24-7 helping them live productive lives in the least restrictive community settings instead of institutional settings. 

Dream Care is currently seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our team. We are looking at candidates who are committed and interested in working with intellectually and developmentally disabled adults in one of our residential treatment facilities. We provide a dynamically positive work environment with a team of people who love what they do along with support and training for entry-level candidates. Duties and Responsibilities of Direct Support Professional

1. Responsible for the direct supervision, care and training of all residents, ensuring any needed provisions are made for residents with disabilities, including visual or auditory deficits.
2. Responsible for assisting residents in attending to their personal care and hygiene, as needed such as cleaning and changing diapers. 
3. Responsible for supervising the self-administration of resident medications, per physician’s orders.
4. Responsible for assuring the care and supervision of residents in any emergency by utilizing appropriate emergency measures, such as calling 911, the Police or fire department, or other agencies.
5. Responsible for proper preparation, handling and serving of meals. 
6. Responsible for the cleanliness and laundry needs of the facility.
7. Responsible for the provision of services to the residents required or identified by their Individual Program Plan (IPP), including any Behavior Intervention Plans and Skill Development Plans.
8. Must successfully complete the Direct Support Professional (DSP) requirement.  Part 1 must be completed within one (1) year of the date-of-hire, and part 2 must be completed within two (2) years of the date-of-hire.

Minimum Qualifications of Direct Support Professional

1. Must be 18 years of age or older. 
2. Fluent in English. 
3. Knowledge of the requirements for providing the type of care and supervision needed by residents, including the ability to communicate with such residents.
4. Knowledge of and ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
5. Completion of an adult CPR and First Aid course.
6. Able to pass a health screening, including a negative tuberculosis test, and shall be physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.
7. Be able to pass a criminal record clearance (FBI/DOJ) before employment begins. 
8. Must have reliable transportation in order to arrive at work on time.
