ROLE:
Within authorized authority, and recommendation to the Director of Consumer Lending when necessary, examines, evaluates, and authorizes approval of borrower's applications for credit or extension of lines of credit, or consumer credit loans, by performing the following duties. Must be a decision-maker with a tolerance for risk, while understanding the lending guidelines and regulations.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
• Analyzes applicant financial status, credit, and collateral evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan and approves or denies. Forwards that information to the loan interviewer.
• Corresponds/converses with interviewers frequently to resolve questions regarding application information provided, and further delve into the member's situation to assist in being able to grant credit to the member.
• Clear and document Red Flags. Ensure due diligence is performed: verifying account information, credit worthiness, and reviewing income/employment information, determining collateral value to ensure borrower's ability and willingness to repay. Asking for and properly documenting additional information as needed. Ensure that proper adverse actions are used when declining an applicant.
• Process loan applications quickly and thoroughly. Communicate lending decisions to internal team members on direct loan applications. Communication methods may include making and answering phone calls, responding to emails, web message comments with dealerships. Answer lending questions from internal staff and dealers.
• Has a tolerance for risk while appreciating the policy guidelines and requirements set out in regulation.
• Work with Indirect loan processor, internal loan processors, dealers and members to resolve loan stipulations and ensure conditions are met prior to final review and approval.
• Maintain a knowledge of the direct and indirect lending market by obtaining and reviewing competitor program information as needed. Remain up to date on assigned training courses including annual required Fair Lending training and all industry trends and standards. Maintain up to date knowledge of our lending promotions and programs and policies.
• Demand of myself, and others, the highest levels of integrity, leadership, accountability and teamwork.
• Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control
EXPERIENCE:
• Two to five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent or two years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SPECIFIC SKILLS:
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
• Must have an analytical mind with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where guidelines are available but extensive individual evaluation is required. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written form, including but not limited to loan policy, procedural manuals, and compliance with appropriate regulations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Sitting; walking; bending; squatting; kneeling; pushing/pulling; reaching; twisting; frequent lifting of less than 10 lbs.; occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of member service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
