Director, Youth Court Alliance

Position Summary
SN is proud to support United Way of York County (UWYC) in their search for a Director for the Youth Court Alliance (YCA) program. As the Director, you will oversee the development, implementation, and operations of Youth Court Alliance throughout York County. You will lead in the development and execution of plans to expand YCA to serve more students and increase partnerships to support truant students.As a critical advocate for education in York County, the Director will serve on community committees and build partnerships with school districts, volunteers, and families throughout the region.
Essential Functions
Core Role
- Ensure successful implementation of York County Youth Court Alliance.Develops and executes plans to expand YCA to serve more students and increase partnerships to support truant students.
- Ensures high quality program development through research, innovative program development, and evaluation.
- Oversee volunteers and program implementation of YCA at sites throughout York County.Assist with providing technical assistance to school districts implementing the YCA program model.
- Oversee the processes used for maintaining and organizing individual files for all YCA participants.
- Provide mentorship to current and prior participants of YCA. Ensure the safety of the program, participants, and members at all times.Provide appropriate resources to students and their families.
- Lead and plan YCA related events.

- Build collaborations with colleges and universities to recruit interns. As the SME, advocate for education including serving on community committees and building partnerships with school districts, volunteers, and families.
- Lead Truancy Prevention Initiative by serving the York County Truancy Task Force.
Leadership/Management
- Provide guidance to the team so they can effectively and successfully perform his/her role.Recruits, trains, and supervises YCA Program Manager Program Coordinators/Assistants/Interns.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to learn during change initiatives.Ability to lead others through change initiatives.
- Delegate tasks related to strategic initiatives.
- Embrace continuous learning and help train employees.
Financial Acumen
- Assist the VPs with development and implementation of the Annual Budget.
- Prepare department specific reporting.Ensure grant and program integrity and compliance, submit financial and program reports as deemed necessary by program funders.
- Complete and submit YCA funding application on an annual basis and meet with the program funders on a quarterly basis.
- Assist VPs with Annual Campaign initiatives where appropriate.
Educational and Other Requirements
- 7+ years experience in similar non-profit/community outreach program.
- Bachelor's or Associates Degree or equivalent experience required.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and organizations.
- Demonstrated reliability and positive work habits.
- Capable of multi-tasking and working under pressure.
- Ability to pass background checks in accordance with insurance provider and legal requirements.
- Proficient at using Microsoft Suite, and the ability to learn organization specific software.
