SUMMARY: The Director of Facilities Management and Environmental Services provides leadership, direction and supervision of the organization's physical plant(s), maintenance, grounds, housekeeping services/Haz Mat, Biomed, Security and compliance and safety. The Director has significant input into compliance with the Environment of Care standards of the AAAHC and has responsibility for updating of the Maintenance Policies and Procedures. He/she is responsible for organizing and directing programs to maintain the facilities, equipment, and grounds in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, and established policies and procedures. The Director is responsible for preventative maintenance and coordination of unscheduled maintenance of all clinic sites and equipment, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems.

HOURS: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field is required. Five (5) years of experience in Facilities leadership in a hospital, medical clinic, or related environment is required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: HVAC and Electrical Certificate preferred. Valid California Driver's license.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Oversees and directs the operation of the Facilities Management, Security and Environmental Services teams with primary responsibility for all maintenance and engineering activities and ensuring compliance with the Physical Environment standards for deferral, state, and other governing bodies.
  • Manage and be responsible for all construction and renovation throughout all facilities of the organization.
  • In conjunction with Department Directors and Administration, regularly revises pertinent policies and procedures as necessary to retain compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
  • Works with departments and administration in the planning and budgeting, space utilization and facility changes.
  • Coordinates the activities associated with response to disasters to include hazardous materials, mass casualties and other internal and external incidents.
  • Seeks to improve departmental and clinic operations by continually assessing and making process improvement suggestions.
  • Drafts and prepares special reports and analysis for review when assigned.
  • Develops policies and procedures pertinent to Facilities Management and Environmental Services.
  • Ordering and maintenance of equipment and supplies for Facilities Management and Environmental Services.
  • Works with outside vendors in the coordination of work being performed.
  • Manages all aspects of real property operated by RMC.
  • Administers and directs all building and ground improvement programs, both in-house and contracted. Establish rules for optimum use of vehicles, machinery, and equipment, and shall require adherence to these rules.
  • Be knowledgeable in O.S.H.A safety rules and regulations, and be responsible for ongoing staff training regarding these regulations. This should include Title 22 and NFPA regulations regarding Health Care Facilities.
  • Responsible for the safety programs, developing, implementing and ensuring programs are adhered to, training and development in all safety areas.
  • Development of the Injury, Illness and Prevention Program and Emergency Action Plans in conjunction with Administration.
  • Maintain Master Book on all current MSDS sheets for all departments on chemicals used in the Clinics. Responsible for maintaining expenditures within budget limitations set forth at the beginning of the fiscal year. Will also be involved in budget development.
  • Responsible for the inventory of RMC engineering/ maintenance equipment, and furnishings.
  • Ensure that RMC facilities are locked, alarmed, and safeguarded against breaches of security. Secure outside specialists when needed, and in cooperation with Administration.
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and critical systems of the facilities.
  • Be able to make major and minor repairs and instruct employees to perform minor repairs.
  • Uphold and reinforce rules and regulations and other State/Federal requirements i.e., HIPAA, ADA, and other governmental requirements within job scope.
