The Director Airline Partnerships & Alliances invests in the future of Southwest’s People by supporting Southwest's revenue generation efforts . This role is responsible for developing the relationship, strategy , communication, and execution of a irline p artnerships within Southwest . In addition, as the main point of contact for partnerships, the Director manage s the day-to-day working relationship s with partn ers and resolve s issues as they arise. The Director Airline Partnerships & Alliance has strong interpersonal skills and enjoys working in a collaborative environment to ensure smooth entry and implementation of agreements while being a strong advocate of a irline p artnerships .

Job Responsibilities
Manage a Team accountable for identifying, recommending and implementing partnership opportunities with other carriers that will deliver incremental revenue to Southwest and enhance Southwest's Customer proposition while aligning with Southwest's Commercial priorities
Accountable for developing a strategy with other carriers and implementing plans to maximize revenue from airline partners that is consistent with Southwest's Commercial goals
Build effective communication and rapport with peers throughout Southwest to actively manage airline partnership and ensure a positive Customer experience
Lead a cross-functional Team responsible for negotiation and implementation of agreements (codeshare, special prorate agreements etc.) with Southwest's airline partners
Lead a Team that will ensure Commercial, Operational and Technology requirements of our Interline and Codeshare partner carriers are achieved and maintained
Formulate precise and persuasive written material for both internal and external stakeholders
Ensure effective communication of airline partnership strategy and meet monthly with Southwest Airlines Pilots Association (SWAPA) for an in-depth discussion on all areas of Southwest's Airline Partnership work
Ensure team understands how airline partnership fits with Southwest commercial strategy and aligns goals of Team to Southwest's Commercial goals
Ensure that the Airline Partnership team Team adheres to all Southwest guidelines and practices
Ensure that Airline Partnership Team has strong day to day working relationship with all partner carriers to quickly and efficiently resolve any issues that may arise
Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements for this description
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Expert knowledge in Airline Partnerships/alliances and industry affairs
Knowledgeable in network planning, revenue management and loyalty programs
Highly skilled in influence and negotiation
Skilled in presentations at all levels
Ability to communicate analytic results to senior executives
Ability to work within regulatory constraints
Ability to identify all critical issues on complex areas that need to be resolved
Ability to serve as an inspirational Leader to multiple Teams
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s)
Advanced level Business Acumen in Airline Partnerships/Alliances, an understanding of broad business impacts
Seasoned and specialized knowledge in
Airline partnership/alliances
Industry affairs
Network planning
Revenue management
Loyalty experience
Preferred: Broad Airline Partnership knowledge and experience covering commercial, operational, accounting, etc.
Licensing/Certification

Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Ability to travel and work extended hours based on operational needs
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $175,150 – $194,600 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
