Dining Services Director

Primary Purpose: To manage the day-to-day operations of Food Services through the Sandifer Dining Hall and for special events.

Essential Functions:

•Responsible for planning and preparing the details, decorations, food and drinks for special events to include but not limited to: campus wide events, departmental events, advancement VIP events and special outside guests
•Follows proper storage and preparation techniques to ensure that food items are maintained at a high quality and that SCDHEC standards are met at all times
•Maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen and other working areas
•Leads and Supervises Food Services staff
•Trains cottage staff on ServSafe standards
•Supports cottage food preparation with bulk cooking and menu creation
•Creates nutritional recipes binder for cottage staff
•Works collaboratively with other departments on special events
•Supports CMCM vision, mission, and values
•Works towards achieving yearly "Gold Star" list
•Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Qualifications:

•High School Diploma required; College degree preferred
•Food prep, dining planning and set-up experience required
•Knowledge of SCDHEC requirements and regulations
•Ability to improve processes and get things done in efficient manner
•Ability to multitask
•Love for and a demonstrated effectiveness in relating to people
•Superior communications and organizational skills
•Ability to keep absolute and complete confidentiality of sensitive information
•ServSafe Certified within six months

Work Conditions:

•Lift, bend, push, walk and stand for extended periods of time
•Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weight, up to 50 pounds
•Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
•Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends based on ministry needs
•Ability to work under stress during peak workload periods
•Exposure to temperature fluctuations, cleaning agents and fumes
