Job Announcement: Come join the Longview Team as a Full-Time Dining Services Coordinator, Tuesday through Saturday, where legacy meets innovation and where staff work together to create a team environment while assisting older adults in our community.

JOB SUMMARY:

At Longview, we are in the business of taking care of people-and this culture begins with our employees. We are currently seeking an energetic Dining Services Coordinator. This position is perfect for you if you have a dynamic floor presence, excellent leadership skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a genuine interest in others.

As the Dining Services Coordinator at Longview, you will be the right hand to our Food Service Director, providing residents with the best possible experience and creating a positive work culture by personally exemplifying our core values. You will also be responsible for assisting the Food Service Director to ensure that the dining room and kitchen meets or exceeds targets and overseeing the dining room and kitchen preparedness for daily service and Department of Health inspection readiness.

What We’re Looking For:

· A professional who has excellent people skills. The individual is exceptionally skilled at welcoming, serving, and interacting with residents.

· Knows how to manage and work in a team. The Dining Services Coordinator will also be a problem solver, with the need to intervene in any conflict that may arise or resolve a range of problems.

· Possess leadership skills, to be able to effectively manage and coordinate an entire front and back of house team but also the relationship with suppliers.

· Be precise, to ensure the best possible customer experience. The Dining Services Coordinator must monitor the work of each individual and pay close attention to every detail.

· Experience with hiring and training servers, bussers/dishwashers.

· Proficient with Microsoft and Excel to create and maintain shift schedules.

· Suggests revisions or adaptations of procedures for more efficient performance of the food service unit and training of employees.

· Promotes a “team” approach within the community and encourages teamwork by example and by using positive approaches resulting in increased employee morale.

· Alert and attentive to detail necessary in supervising, food handling and storage, and insuring sanitation of all work areas and storage areas.

· Present in the dining room during service to gain insight on food acceptance by residents.

· Assist in the cleanliness of equipment and work areas in accordance with policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations.

· Assist with ordering and monthly inventory control.

· Completes mandatory training and/ or routine training per facility policy such as HIPPA, abuse, patient’s/resident’s rights, dementia, ethics, and emergency preparedness.

· Performs other duties as assigned by the food services managers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must possess a food handler’s certificate or be willing to obtain it while employed.

· Possess skills in food service, food safety and sanitation.

· Understands the importance of the various therapeutic diets and their preparation.

· Ability to work independently and under direct supervision.

· Good oral and written communication skills.

· Basic knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to food, sanitation, food safety, food service, etc.

· Basic Steps of Service knowledge.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

· Preferably possess a high school diploma or GED

· Must have at least 2 years’ experience and knowledge of kitchen operations, food service, sanitation, and food safety.

· Must have at least 2 years’ experience with front of house operations.

· Must have 1 years’ experience as a supervisor or manager.

PAY: $21.64 to $26.44 per hour

HOURS: Tuesday through Saturday 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM. May vary as business necessitates.
