Kantishna Roadhouse (KRH) is a full-service, backcountry lodge located 90 miles into the pristine natural wonder of Denali National Park in a remote area where few are lucky enough to travel. Employees at the Roadhouse will find adventure, tranquility and an escape from every-day modern life. The season at Kantishna Roadhouse is approximately from June 4 - September 14 and KRH is seeking candidates available to stay the entire season. Room and board are provided free of charge for this position.
JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the KRH Operations Manager, the Dining Room Server provides food and beverage service to guests in the Dining Room and assists in the bar as needed.Responsibilities:
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Kantishna Roadhouse is remotely located within Denali National Park. There is no road access to Kantishna Roadhouse. The only access is by small aircraft. The work is performed in an upscale Dining Room setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities. During busy dining periods, servers are under pressure to serve customers quickly and efficiently.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: An individual is on their feet most of the time and carries heavy trays of food, dishes, and glassware (50+ lbs.). [Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions].

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Greets customers as they arrive and depart.
- Presents menu and wine list, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
- Records accurate food and beverage orders.
- Relays order to kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and service bar.
- Observes customers to respond to additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.
- Ladles soup, tosses salad, portions pies and desserts, and brews coffee, tea, etc.
- Cleans and wipes tables and chairs and resets tables and side stations.
- Restocks and resets glassware, silverware, tablecloths, and napkins.
- Vacuums, sweeps, and mops Dining Room floors.
- May work split shifts and do other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of two (2) years as a server
- Minimum one (1) year of commercial kitchen experience
- Current Food Handlers Card
- Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screening tests
