HOURS: Part-Time, 20 hours per week on M, W, F 6:30AM-1PM

SALARY/PAY RATE: $16.25 an hour, paid bi-weekly

Essential Job Functions
The Dining Room Monitor/Custodian /Custodian oversees the kitchen and Dining Room area while the day center is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The staff member will work with community volunteers to serve breakfast to guests and prepare afternoon snack. The Dining Room Monitor/Custodian works with staff to provide quality customer service to our participants and orient volunteers to the kitchen/Dining Room area. The Dining Room Monitor/Custodian maintains high visibility and promotes a safe and secure environment. The Dining Room Monitor/Custodian is responsible for verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution among participants and monitors the building for any potential risks by conducting routine walkthroughs. The staff person is also responsible for cleaning and disinfecting the kitchen, Dining Room and bathrooms after the center closes at 12PM.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
? Monitors activities at the Day Center and watches for signs of disturbance and reports to management any incident
? Maintains good relationships with participants, volunteers, and community members
? Uses verbal de-escalation skills to reduce conflict among participants
? Assists the team in providing services and directing participants
? Takes accurate notes of unusual occurrences and incidents
? Conducts rounds throughout the center checking for any irregularities.
? Assists volunteers, donors and staff in receiving donations of items including moving items to designated spaces and issuing receipts to donors.
? Attends mental health training, first aid/CPR classes, and other training sessions as requested by the Associate Director
? Other duties, as requested by Supervisor, that may not be listed here.
Qualifications
? High School Diploma/GED
Requirements
? Prior homeless services experience a plus.
? ServSafe certification a plus.
? Ability to assist in emergency
? Experience or relevant experience in building maintenance
? Able to use de-escalation techniques and critical thinking
? Frequent walking and standing, sitting, stooping or kneeling. Must be able to frequently move or lift up to 50 pounds
? Must maintain a high degree of integrity and professionalism
Work Schedule:
In person from 6:30AM-1PM on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
