JOB SUMMARY:
According to established procedures, cleans and services building areas, dining rooms and lounges to maintain the facility in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition. and performs a variety of environmental service duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Housekeeping
- Selects cleaning materials and supplies and Prepares solutions according to procedure. Loads service cart and transports to work area.
- Requests cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
- Operates various types of cleaning equipment both mechanical and electrical, i.e. scrubbers, vacuums.
- Report safety hazards to Ridgewood Administrator.
- Returns unused supplies to janitor closet, cleans carts and equipment and ensures all items are replaced in an orderly manner.
- Maintains vinyl floors in resident rooms and common areas per maintenance requirements from manufacturer.
- Responsible for periodic washing of windows in resident rooms and common areas. Clean windows and blinds once a month, and outside 1-2 times annually.
- Maintain live plants in building.
- Assist with laundry
- Clean residents rooms, including keeping closets in some kind of order.
- Maintain all floors and carpets throughout building.
- Get apartment cleaned and ready for next resident.
- Spring cleaning of entire facility.
- Strip and remake beds every week at a minimum.
- Clean refrigerators and freezers.
- Clean curtains in common areas.
Personal Care
- Provide for personal hygiene care which may include; complete or partial bath, back care, oral hygiene, combing hair, shaving, toileting, dressing resident, changing bed linen and other Personal Care as is necessary.
- Provide for assistance with medications including glucometer monitoring and sub q injections.
- Responds appropriately to emergency situations i.e.: ambulance response, 911, first aide, CPR.
- Participates in and directs both diversional and planned activities.
- Supervise and encourage participation in social and recreational activities.
- Assists residents with handling and care of personal laundry.
- Performs routine treatment procedures including; application of appliances for heat/cold, routine skin care, hand held nebulizers, oxygen, pulse ox, and other treatments.
- Takes and/or records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, and intake/output. Maintains records as needed.
- Assess and monitor physical, cognitive and social dimensions of the resident. Observes, monitors and reports any adverse symptoms, findings or changes in residents physical or cognitive behaviors to the resident's physician and Administrator.
- Review and respond if necessary, to results of resident lab and other diagnostic tests.
- Record accurately, clearly and concisely all pertinent information on resident records. Interprets, documents, transcribes onto resident records, the physician's plan of care. Instructs and counsels residents on the same.
- Promptly responds to all call bells, and provides for resident care needs accordingly.
- Responsible for reporting any changes observed in condition or behavior and any unusual incidents.
- Provides for resident privacy at all times, knocking before entering room, closing room doors, etc. before providing care.
- Serves residents meals waitress style.
- Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships with residents assuring confidentiality of resident information.
- Participates in and contributes to resident care needs.
Dining
- Prepares menu items as assigned to assure the menu is ready for service at appropriate meal times.
- Plates residents meals for serving, keeping presentation of plate looking nice.
- Operates dishwasher, washes pot and pans and puts all clean items away in appropriate areas.
- Resets dining room for meals.
- Maintains department sanitation, safety and productivity standards.
- Maintains daily taste and temperature log.
- Prepares production sheets.
- Puts away stock.
- Cleans kitchen equipment, vacuums and mops floors.
- Fill milk and water pitchers, brew coffee and fill coffee pots, pour milk, prepare toast, fill condiments, make juice, peel potatoes.
- Will be required to participate in the planning and implementation of special functions within the assisted living facility.
- Communicates any production difficulties to Dietary Manager.
