Diner Cook

Looking for Part time Diner Cook. Preparing sandwiches and deli items. This position includes prep work, serving, clean-up, set-up and working with an elderly population. Must be flexible with days available.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma required.

2. Ability to understand and organize food preparation activities required.

3. Knowledge of food preparation and production process; knowledge of food protection principles.

4. Ability to carry out cooking tasks at a safe and efficient level of performance required.

5. Pride in quality of food and service necessary.

6. High degree of personal cleanliness and good hygiene necessary; health status suitable for work in food services required.

Job Duties:

1. Prepare specified food items, as assigned.

2. Test cooked foods by tasting and smelling samples.

3. Ensure that sanitation and safety standards are met in the preparation, cooking and production line stages of food production.

4. Assist in maintaining meal census logs, serving temperatures, serving times and other quality procedures.

5. Assist in care and maintenance of kitchen equipment; notify supervisor of equipment in need of repair.

6. Assist with preparation of and distribution of foods.
