Position Summary:
The DV Production Operations Intern will collaborate with KQED's Digital Video Production Operations and Media Services teams to support the production of high-quality digital media - including KQED's multiple award-winning Digital Video series - for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and other digital / vertical / social media platforms.
Digital Video Operations supports all aspects of Digital Video Production at KQED including content development, equipment maintenance and management, scheduling, studio and field production, post-production, distribution, financial management and more. DV Ops also helps production teams with the facilitation of legal and labor questions and issues. DV Ops works to establish best practices and production methodologies for Digital Video including analytics, strategy and research of current trends in Video Production and distribution.
Interns will receive practical experience supporting all phases of Digital Video Production Operations and training in various areas. The internship is 16 hours per week, paid, and with flexible scheduling.

Essential Functions:
- Attending DV weekly meetings and other relevant team and KQED meetings
- Research trends and best practices in DV and vertical Video Production as assigned
- Assist with DV equipment inventory and management
- Production assistance in the field and Digital Production Space as needed
Key Responsibilities/Accountability:
- Assist with the production of digital media assets for multi-platform digital projects, including video and social media shareables such as .gifs, memes, and basic graphic design;
- Use creative problem-solving skills to work collaboratively within a variety of different content areas and teams;
- Assist with developing, updating and documenting workflows for various operations within Video Production pipeline.
- Assist with the research and strategy involved with the development of new series and strands.
- Assist with media asset management and archiving deliverables on internal KQED servers as needed;
Other Job Functions:
- Uploading content to various external distribution platforms;
- Assist with quality assurance of projects, both for the content that is being presented as well as the technical nature of their delivery.
Knowledge/Experience Required:
Note: We welcome applicants who may not have extensive experience in all of these areas, but are eager to learn and grow these skills:
- Experience in digital media production and editing; especially with Adobe Premiere, AfterEffects, Illustrator and Photoshop;
- Must be meticulously organized and thorough and able to troubleshoot technical issues;
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and of the written word, and ability to work with a variety of diversified teams;
- Ability to work independently on deadline and to balance multiple assignments
- Ability to adapt from project to project and platform to platform
- Strong organizational and research skills and strong attention to detail
- Fluent with social media platforms including Instagram, YouTube, TikTok
Knowledge/Experience Desired:
- Basic graphic design experience - creating thumbnails, decks, etc.
- Social media presence - demonstrated skills with online community engagement
- Fluency in another language, especially Spanish
- Technical and occupational writing.
- Knowledge of Google Drive and Microsoft Office suites
