Job Summary/Description:
The Digital Content Producer/MMJ will work closely with the digital content manager to create exclusive content for our various digital platforms. The PRODUCER/REPORTER will schedule and conduct interviews, gather content, edit video, create livestreams and produce digital content. The candidate will also present stories live during the station's newscasts during the week.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Competence in reporting live, online, and on air.
- Shoot stories for newscasts and digital platforms.
- Pitching and researching, setting up news stories.
- Posting stories online.
- Gather and write content for livestreams and digital platforms.
- Respond quickly and aggressively to breaking news and getting a stream live.
- Edit video for multiple platforms.
- Operate the Digital Desk when necessary.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- The successful candidate will be creative, extremely detail-oriented, and have very strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and communication skills
- Positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced and dynamic environment under deadline pressure
- Able to work well with a team
- Flexible to work mornings, nights, and weekends
- Able to sit and stand for extended periods. Able to climb and work on ladders and comfortably lift 30 pounds or more
- Computer literacy is a must
- Strong grasp of visual design, grammar, and spelling
- While previous television experience is preferred, it is not required
- Journalism degree or similar is preferred
