The Digital Media Specialist is a member of the Marketing & Communications department and will be responsible for creating, implementing, and optimizing Digital Media strategies to enhance online presence and drive engagement across various digital platforms. Will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop compelling digital content, manage social media channels, analyze campaign performance metrics, and stay updated on emerging trends in Digital Media. The ideal candidate is creative, analytical, and proficient in leveraging digital tools to achieve marketing objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Planning and executing social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other platforms
● Marketing strategy creation (executes paid and organic search and social media ads)
● Attending campus events, occasionally at night or on the weekends
● Developing the social media strategy and content calendar
● Capturing and sharing relevant content; monitoring official institutional social media accounts and responding to questions
● Proposing and writing website articles, blogs and press releases
● Managing staff and student content creators
● Incorporating SEO tactics & tracing analytics to monitor use and engagement
● Obtaining and managing digital assets, including but not limited to photo and video libraries
● Website maintenance
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations and or digital marketing
· Direct experience with digital marketing
· Superior writing skills
· Able to write, create and direct short videos
· A marketing communications or PR internship and / or 1 year of experience in a business or education setting
· Proficiency in Hootsuite, Canva, Constant Contact, Wordpress, Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere), Google Suite
