The Digital Marketing Intern is responsible for executing effective marketing strategies, assisting with content development. The intern will play an integral role in building and engaging the customer base by creating effective strategies to promote long-term growth; develop and implement a Digital Marketing strategy; and promote The Berg Group’s brand to attract visitors and potential leads.
As a Berg Group Intern, you will play an integral part of our team, while gaining real-world experience and a comprehensive understanding of various marketing functions within our organization. The Digital Marketing intern will serve as a valued member of the team, with a focus on internal, external, and digital communications, and ensure the team delivers consistent brand messaging and excellent communications across all platforms.
Essential Functions
Primary Responsibilities/Duties
- Provide overall marketing support to the marketing team and collaborate with individuals across the business development and interior systems teams to execute key initiatives.
- Assist in managing social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and editorial calendar to ensure content is timely, relevant, and engaging
- Draft monthly email newsletters to subscribers by creating layout and design and content
- Support creation of Client Profiles and Case Studies
- Improve and maintain the employee portal
- Develop sales and marketing collateral, website content and presentation material to be used in customer-facing interactions
- Collaborate with web design/development agency to monitor and improve search engine optimization (SEO) results for Berg’s website and social media pages
- Participate and lead special projects, which may include assistance in meeting preparation, development, and execution of various marketing campaigns
- Maintain current knowledge of trends and developments in Digital Marketing in the construction industry.
- Regularly conduct competitor content analysis to support the content team
- Provide short- and long-term construction market forecasts, trends, and reports
Experience and Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in Marketing or other related degree
- Able to complete full 12-week internship (May/June-August 2023)
- Experience with photography, videography, social media, and writing
- Proven strength in the following: analysis and creative problem solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) software tools
Sedentary Work
- Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 - 15 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying.
- Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
- Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
