SUMMARY
The Digital Literacy and Broadband Technology Coordinator performs advanced (senior-level) consultative services and technical assistance work in Digital Literacy, broadband, and library broadband-enabled technologies. This position takes a leadership role in ensuring Texas libraries are knowledgeable about and have resources to implement Digital Literacy, broadband, and broadband-enabled technologies that meet the needs of their communities. As a member of the Office of Statewide Digital Opportunity (OSDO) team, also serves as the project lead for major internal, statewide, and national initiatives and projects relating to Digital Literacy programs and technology in libraries that support library capacity. Coordinates project goals with other division/agency programs. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Consults with and provides training to   Texas library workers, library boards and interested residents on a wide range of library technology issues.
Manage Digital Literacy and library technology support contracts and grants related to OSDO program goals.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance TSLAC programs and services related to Digital Literacy, broadband, and library technology. 
Provide resources for assigned projects via agency web site and blog .
Perform other duties as assigned.
Attend work regularly in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.    
Comply with all applicable agency policies and procedures, including safety and standards of conduct.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
Four years experience working in a library or collaborating with library staff to support and implement library Digital Literacy and/or technology programs.
Experience in design and delivery of training.
Experience planning and/or delivering services to clients.
Experience using a variety of software applications including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of library technology issues and trends, including issues relating to public access computing and telecommunications.
Ability to analyze data, to formulate conclusions, to develop guidelines, and to write reports.
Ability to work well with individuals, groups, and other consultants.
Ability to speak before groups.
Ability to take initiative in areas of responsibility as part of statewide library development team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in library or information science from an accredited program.
Experience managing library technology projects.
Experience managing technology networks, hardware, and security.
Experience writing technical evaluations, procurement documents or planning documents. 
Experience in the area(s) of community engagement and/or outreach .
Experience with online meeting software and learning management systems (e.g. 
Zoom, GoToWebinar, Moodle).
Experience as a professional librarian.
Experience working in or with multiple types of libraries or library consortia.
Bilingual - Spanish 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Submit complete college transcripts.
Submit portfolio of writing samples and sample training materials.
Applicants selected for interview may make a 15-minute presentation on an assigned topic .
Approximately 5-10% travel by airplane and personal automobile required, some evening and weekend work.
Work over 40 hours per week occasionally required. 

WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office work environment and may have exposure to dust and environmental allergens consistent with normal business activities and human contact. Mostly sedentary in nature but may involve moving; standing; pulling and pushing kneeling, stooping, and bending; performing tasks requiring fine motor skill and coordination to safely move items weighing up to 15 pounds. Must be able to work extended periods at a computer.  May require working extended hours and some evenings and weekends as needed. Normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall and apply certain practices and policies and interpret data. Travel, some overnight, will be required to conduct training, speak publicly, and attend meetings. 

SUPERVISION
None; Reports to the Director, Library Development and Networking; works under team leadership of the Digital Opportunity Program Coordinator.
