DIGITAL FORENSIC ANALYST

Duties: Searches, reviews, & documents evidence obtained through a variety of different electronic sources; participates in investigative processes; writes reports documenting procedures & locating of items; assists with writing search warrants; testifies in court; uses geographic information systems (GIS) to produce computer-generated maps displaying crime activity; evaluates crime data; writes reports & presents analysis to command staff & detectives; creates visual presentations & performs written & verbal briefings of analytical results; maintains frequent contact & facilitates information sharing with coworkers & other agencies; stays current on technology & crime analysis processes; conducts training & creates educational materials on crime analysis for citizen groups & law enforcement personnel.
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.; Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Computer Science, Digital Forensics preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years of post-high school course work or one (1) year of work experience in Computer Science, Digital Forensic Science, or related field.
Requirements: Must possess a valid Kansas Driver’s License.
Work Type: Light, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., may be asked to work irregular hours to process evidence.
Starting pay: $19.93-20.93/hr. DOQ EOE
