Are you interested in a paid spring internship opportunity with a human services nonprofit organization? We welcome individuals who are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree to participate up to 20 hours per week, it's a 16 week opportunity. Through this role, you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience working for a nonprofit that’s making a difference in the lives of individuals throughout New England.

In this role, you have the opportunity to make an impact across our organization.

Our ability to provide exceptional client services hinges on the people we invite to join our marketing team, which serves the marketing needs of all programs and business units within Ascentria.

This Spring internship opportunity is a remote position. Reporting to the Web and Digital Marketing Manager, you will have the chance to learn from and work with a talented, experienced marketing team. You will join a team that is responsible for creating and executing strategic digital marketing campaigns to support the goals and objectives of the diverse human services programs at Ascentria.  

Additionally, you will support content creation and copywriting projects that help tell the stories of hope and compassion from across our organization.

You are responsible for:

  • Supporting the digital lead by creating and executing digital marketing plans
  • Collaborating with program managers and department leads to develop content
  • Drafting and editing compelling content for social media and email
  • Supporting digital fundraising efforts
  • Supporting the digital lead in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for organization websites
  • Assisting in the development of monthly or ad hoc marketing reports
  • Ad-hoc projects
  • Supporting proofreading projects
  • And more! Depending on your skill set and interests we are open to helping you pursue marketing projects that align with your degree pathway and future career.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

 

  • Currently studying toward a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing/Communications, English, Journalism, or relevant fields. Marketing focus highly preferred
  • Junior and Senior year candidates preferred
  • Digital Marketing experience preferred
  • Strong communication, writing, organizational and presentation skills
  • Able to work with multiple stakeholders to prioritize tasks and projects effectively
  • Ability to function professionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of social media platforms
  • Quick learner; self-starter with a hands-on attitude
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong prioritization skills

 Your technical skills should include:

  • Familiarity with Wordpress and Content Management Systems
  • A working knowledge of social media trends, best practices and platform updates
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, SEO content writing and research
