YOU
As a Digital Asset Specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Digital Asset Manager managing and organizing Digital Assets within Simpson Strong-Tie. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the creation, storage, retrieval, and distribution of digital media files, analyzing the organization's Digital Assets to ensure they are efficiently organized, easily accessible, and advocating for compliance with established protocols. This role requires a strong understanding of Digital Asset management (DAM) systems, file formats, metadata, and excellent organizational skills. Role requires knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) to evaluate assets visual acuity and maintain visual standards.
The role of a Digital Asset Specialist is crucial in judging the integrity and accessibility of an organization's digital content, supporting efficient collaboration among teams, and maintaining compliance with legal and quality standards.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
File Ingestion and Validation; (30%)
- Oversee the ingestion of new Digital Assets into the DAM system.
- Validate files for accuracy, completeness, and quality standards.
Digital Asset Management; (25%)
- Implement and maintain a Digital Asset management system.
- Ensure proper storage, version control, and organization of Digital Assets. Conduct regular audits of the DAM system to ensure data integrity. Identify and address issues related to the quality of Digital Assets.
- Create and support best practices to improve the system and various processes for internal and external users
Metadata Management; (25%)
- Investigate options for metadata recommendations and then develop and enforce those standards for enhanced searchability.
- Recommend, communicate, and help administer processes and procedures to acquire proper files and appropriate metadata throughout the different user groups.
- Attach relevant metadata to digital files, including keywords and usage rights information.
Communication, Training and Support; (20%)
- Work closely with various departments to understand their Digital Asset needs.
- Communicate DAM best practices and guidelines to internal stakeholders.
- Evaluate and maintain supporting documentation for the system, policies and training sessions
- Provide recommendations on how to train users to use the DAM system effectively.
- Review our technical support procedures and offer opportunities on how to best troubleshoot DAM-related issues.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor’s degree in related field and or equivalent years of experience required.
- 3 years of proven experience in Digital Asset management or a related field required.
- Technical proficiency in digital file formats and Adobe Creative Cloud editing tools required.
- Familiarity with DAM systems and metadata standards. Working knowledge of Widen (Acquia) DAM a plus.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of copyright laws and licensing agreements.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Ability to implement and maintain a Digital Asset management system to organize and catalog digital files.
- Ability to ensure proper storage, version control, and organization of Digital Assets.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their Digital Asset needs and provide support accordingly.
- Ability to develop and enforce metadata standards to enhance searchability and accessibility of Digital Assets.
- Ability to attach relevant metadata to digital files, including keywords, descriptions, and usage rights information
- Ability to oversee the ingestion of new Digital Assets into the DAM system.

- Ability to communicate effectively DAM’s best practices and guidelines to internal stakeholders. Work closely with various departments, including enterprise services, marketing, creative, and product managers to understand their requirements and ensure the effective use of Digital Assets.

Pay
$63500 - $99000 / year
- Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location.
