Inner Haven Wellness is an eating disorder treatment provider serving adolescents (ages 12-17) and adults with locations in Neenah and Madison, Wisconsin. Inner Haven Wellness delivers both Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programming. Drawing from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Inner Haven’s local multidisciplinary treatment teams place significant emphasis on skill development and practice to empower individuals on their recovery journey. The program's flexibility allows clients to pursue healing in a way that meets their unique circumstances and needs.

Inner Haven Wellness is JCAHO accredited and is in-network with most major insurance providers as well as local Wisconsin insurance providers.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Assists the Registered Dietitian with nutrition care for all clients. Collecting basic nutritionally relevant data to identify clients that may need more support at snacks and meals. Assisting dietitians in providing nutrition education and counseling for clients and their families; collecting pertinent clinical data from the medical records; collecting and implementing food and nutrition preferences.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Plans and conducts nutrition intervention/education programs, as indicated.
  • Plan meals as needed per the dietitian's request.
  • Passes and collects menus and monitors compliance with nutrition recommendations.
  • Ensures clients have menu choices and assists with appropriate menu selections.
  • Ensures the Dietitian/catering service receives unusual food requests and/or preparation instructions.
  • Assist Dietitian with picking up, ordering, and setting up meals.
  • Implements nutritional care according to the age and gender, and the cultural, spiritual, medical, and psychosocial needs/requirements of the client.
  • Provides for individual clients ethnic food preferences and food prep.
  • Collects weight, height, BMI, and development for each age group, as indicated.
  • Provides nutrition education to clients individually or in groups as needed.
  • Educates clients’ families on nutrition.
  • Participates in the discharge planning process related to the nutritional needs of the individual clients, and documents in the aftercare plan.
  • Provides meal support for the client and observes food intake, reports progress and dietary problems to the Dietitian and/or treatment team.
  • Analyze menus or recipes for nutritional adequacy.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in mental health, particularly with eating disorders and substance abuse, is preferred.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or graduate of an accredited dietetic technician program highly preferred.
  • Certificate for food protection (i.e ServSafe or equivalent) within 3 months of hire.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of techniques and equipment related to the preparation of food products (both plant and animal) for consumption, including storage/handling techniques.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines as well as be flexible and dependable.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Exceptional customer/client service with the ability to resolve service issues.
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written).
  • Being aware of others' reactions, understanding why they react as they do, and adjusting one’s actions in relation to others.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
