Summary
Directs and coordinates food service activities of hospital or nursing home by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plans and coordinates standards and procedures of food storage, preparation, and service; equipment and department sanitation; and employee safety.
Confers with Consultant Dietitian to ensure that menus and department policies conform with nutritional standards, government regulations, and internal procedures.
Provide patients with basic diet information.
Reviews patient diet information and discusses requests, changes, and inconsistencies with patient, professional staff, and/or IDT committee.
Conduct patient nutritional screening and document in EHR.
Inspects food and food preparation and storage areas.
Tastes, smells, and observes food to ensure conformance with recipes and appearance standards.
Attends meetings with employees, union, establishment, administrative, and/or regulatory personnel to discuss regulations, procedures, grievances, and recommendations for improving food service.
Computes operating costs, maintains records, and prepares reports for use of management or administrative personnel.
Education and Experience
Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification and Licenses
Certification of either: Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional, and/or SafeServe certification
Benefits
Full time employment offers medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, paid holidays and PTO after 60 days of service. Salary Range $60,000-$90,000
