Position Overview: Quest, Inc. is seeking a Dietary Aide/Cook to join our dedicated team in Orlando, FL, where you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being of individuals with developmental disabilities. This position involves assisting in the preparation of nutritious meals, maintaining cleanliness in our kitchen and dining areas, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Kitchen Lead in meal preparation to ensure nutritious and timely meals for residents.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas post-mealtimes, including tasks such as sweeping, mopping, surface cleaning, dishwashing, and trash disposal.
- Prepare kitchen areas for meal service by properly setting out plates, dishes, glasses, and other necessary utensils.
- Clean and maintain trash cans as directed by the Kitchen Lead, ensuring hygiene and sanitation standards are met.
- Prepare afternoon snacks for residents, adhering to nutritional guidelines and individual dietary needs.
- Secure hazardous chemicals, keeping them locked and out of reach from residents and staff to ensure safety.
- Assist in the receiving and stocking of foodservice truck deliveries, organizing food and paper supplies efficiently.
- Engage in all required training sessions actively, aiming for continuous improvement in job performance and compliance with operational standards.
- Adhere to all Quest policies and procedures as detailed in the Staff Manual, ensuring consistent quality and safety.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
- Ability to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred experience in cooking, food preparation, and meal service cleanup.
- Experience with large commercial kitchen appliances such as ovens, ranges, dishwashers, and mixers is a plus.
- Proficiency in speaking and understanding English to ensure effective communication within the team.
- Currently have a Food Protection Manager certificate or be willing to obtain one within 60 days of employment.
