POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for daily preparation and portioning food from the raw state as required by planned menu.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Two years of institutional food preparation experience preferred.

JOB DUTIES:
Reviews menus prior to preparation of food.
*
Performs administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, and submitting to the Food Service Supervisor.

Coordinates dietary service with other departments as necessary.
*

Works with Food Service Supervisor and Dietician as necessary and implements recommended changes as required.
*
*
Assists in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished.
*
*
Prepares meals and therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
*
*
Prepares and serves meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
*
*
Assists in maintaining proper adherence to Infection Control procedures in the Dietary Department.
Assists in maintaining accurate records of resident
Food preference.
Services food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
Prepares food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders.
Assists in food preparation for meals for special events.
Any other duties deemed necessary by the department head.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
