In 1910, Dr. Jennie Schofield and a group of community volunteers founded the “Wheelchair Home” as a not-for-profit home for seniors in Western New York. Today, Schofield continues to provide high quality health care services in our rehab and nursing facility and community-based health care programs.

Dietary Aide | Requirements:
- Some high school or vocational training in the food service industry is preferred. Must annually attend in-service programs as mandated by N.Y. State Health Code.
- Experience in institutional food service or restaurant preferred.
- The individual must possess good moral character, patience, and compassion for the elderly.
Dietary Aide | Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to standardized recipes, production sheets and menus.
- Serve resident trays in an organized, timely manner.
- Set up and serve at meetings and special functions.
- Prepare and deliver between meal nourishment and supplies nourishment stations.
- Follow therapeutic menu sheets and meal forms.
- Set up and serve on tray line.
- Operate kitchen appliances, handle with care; follow proper safety procedures and clean after use.
- Adhere to work time schedules within the department.
- Receive, verify and put stock into proper places.
- Follow proper cleaning procedures as per schedules.
- Set up and operate dish machine properly.
- Maintain sanitary conditions during all food preparation and utilizes correct infection control procedures.
- Clean all work areas and equipment, including walls and floors.
- Properly request, store, label, rotate and dispose of all food and supply items, perishable and non-perishable.
- Is flexible during changes in staff needs.
- Accept other tasks within the scope of department duties, as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as required by their manager.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.65 - $18.70 per hour
