Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Truck Mechanic to join our team. Responsible for performing preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnoses, repairs and services under general supervision, with the provided tools and equipment. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities:
-Maintain a clean, safe working environment
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Conduct automotive diagnostics to identify issues and recommend appropriate repairs
- Perform brake repairs and replacements
- Maintain and repair equipment components such as engines, transmissions, and fuel systems
- Assemble and disassemble parts as needed
- Weld and fabricate components when necessary
- Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance tasks, and parts inventory
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and their components
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Experience with air brake repair and replacement
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and software
- Ability to maintain and repair various types of equipment that keeps our operation flowing
- Proficient in welding and fabrication techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills to identify issues and find effective solutions
Qualifications:
- Technical certification or degree in diesel mechanics is preferred
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
- Valid driver's license, CDL preferred, with a clean driving record
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Work Environment:
-Required to use typical motor skills and physical assertion associated with mechanical work
-Exposure to occupation risks (ex: burns, cuts, exposure to chemicals, etc)
-Exposure to physical environments which can involve weather extremes, odors, noise, sludge, etc
