Diesel Technician

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Class 8 and Medium Duty trucks and trailers. The ideal candidate is one who is self-motivated, takes pride in their work and seeks a challenging career in the transportation industry.

Minimum Basic Skills:

1. Knowledge of basic engine and driveline

2. Knowledge of basic electrical

3. Knowledge of cab and suspension

4. A/C Certification

5. Trailer preventative maintenance work

6. Knowledge of air, hydraulic, and full power brake systems

7. Perform preventative maintenance on all fleet equipment to include reefer units & lift gates

8. Diagnose and repair various reefer and lift gates

9. Special projects as assigned by Service Manager

    

   Trade Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience Required:

1. Customer focused

2. Knowledgeable of medium and heavy duty truck product

3. Good written and verbal communication skills

4. Organizational skills

5. Provide own hand tools up to 1/2 in. drive

6. Knowledge proper use of all tools)

7. Inspection and lubrication

8. Cab, frame front axle, steering gear & springs

9. Brake system, air and hydraulic

10. Clutch, transmission and differential

11. Engine repair – certified in minimum of (1) big Bore engine

12. Engine tune-up, electrical/electronic testing

13. Overhaul, major components

14. Trailer repairs

     

    Educational Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent, special technical training.

2. Honesty and integrity

3. CDL license

4. A full service lease technician may be asked to complete other duties to include fueling, washing and delivering of leased vehicles

5. Excellent communication skills, including an awareness of others and an effective listening ability

6. Customer appreciation, a desire satisfy customers and the ability to instill customer confidence

7. A commitment to customer satisfaction by addressing potential issues proactively

    

   Physical Requirements:

   Must be able to lift 75lbs and carry a distance of 5 feet
