Diesel Mechanic’s Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of customer service and satisfaction
• Work creatively with management to increase productivity and profitability
• Perform PM Services, tractor-trailer repairs, and maintenance
• Perform and document vehicle safety inspections accurately
• Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to identify worn and damaged parts
• Remove, repair, adjust, overhaul, assemble, disassemble, and replace significant assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems such as power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics
• Create accurate estimates on customer vehicles
• Communicate well with customers and management to relay the needed repairs and the value of such repairs.
• Operate company vehicles safely, abiding by company policies and federal and state laws.
• Make roadside repairs
• Maintain a safe and clean workspace

• High school diploma or equivalent, a technical degree is a plus
• Prior diesel mechanic experience preferred; must own mechanical tools
• Valid driver’s license with ability to pass DOT medical card requirement.
• Ability to lift 125lbs
• Positive, customer service attitude
• Basic math skills to calculate accurate repair estimates
• Solid understanding of the truck service industry
