Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of diesel engines, strong diagnostic skills, and a proven track record in efficiently maintaining and repairing a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and Repair Diesel Engines:
- Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify and troubleshoot engine malfunctions.
- Perform repairs and adjustments to diesel engines, ensuring optimal performance.
Routine Maintenance:
- Execute routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Inspect and service various vehicle systems to ensure reliability.
Brakes and Suspension Systems:
- Inspect, repair, and replace brake systems and components.
- Address issues related to suspension and steering systems.
Transmission and Drive Train:
- Diagnose and repair issues with transmissions and drive train components.
- Perform routine inspections to identify potential problems.
Electrical Systems:
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including wiring, lights, and accessories.
- Address issues related to batteries, alternators, and starters.
Hydraulic Systems:
- Repair and maintain hydraulic systems on various diesel-powered equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting hydraulic performance.
Welding and Fabrication:
- Utilize welding and fabrication skills for repairs and customizations as needed.
Record-Keeping:
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory.
- Provide accurate documentation for service histories.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic in a similar role.
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and associated systems.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Strong welding and fabrication skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Physical ability to lift and move Heavy Equipment and parts.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications in Diesel Mechanics.
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is a plus.
- Additional certifications in welding and fabrication.
- Familiarity with various makes and models of diesel-powered vehicles.
