Primary Duties
- Inspects and tests company vehicles, company box trucks, and company tractor trailers.
- Must be able to troubleshoot/diagnose truck engine and emission systems.
- Utilize scanning tools.
- Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers
- Complies with state vehicle and DOT vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation and oil changes
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock and placing orders for necessary parts.
- Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
- Perform all other related duties and assignments as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- Capability to stand in one place for 80% of the shift (8+ hours per day)
- Capability to walk throughout department for 20% of the shift (8+ hours per day)
- Capability to lift to 100 lbs. on a frequent basis with reasonable accommodation.
- Requires the frequent use of both hands and arms
- Capability to bend, twist, and squat as needed throughout the shift (8+ hours per day)
- Must be able to work in a Safety Sensitive Position.
Other Requirements
- 1+ years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic
- CDL B /PA state inspection license is a plus
- Must possess a valid CDL A license
- ASE Diesel Certification an asset
- Knowledge of refrigeration: reverse and cold plate refrigeration, and Thermal King Unit refrigeration a plus
