Job Overview
This position is responsible for maintaining company equipment in accordance with company standards, while maximizing utilization and uptime with a focus on company cost objectives.
What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)
- Capable of performing most major repairs with limited guidance or supervision.
- Repair equipment in the most effective manner with a focus on quality and cost control.
- Perform effective diagnostic routines that identifies root cause and determine best repair method.
- Provide mentoring and training to less experienced technicians.
- Conduct all repairs in a manner that emphasizes personal and coworker safety.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience.
- Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results.
- Able to promote a culture of trust and safety.
What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in computer based maintenance systems
- Vendor sponsored training in major vehicle components
- Minimum five years of experience in Class 8 maintenance and repair
- Constantly positions oneself to operate, inspect, and move up to 60 pounds
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard on a daily basis
- Detect, recognize and assess printed text and hand written documents
