Job description

Lakes Dialysis Center is looking for a highly motivated candidate to join our team. The Hemodialysis PCT will be under the supervision of the RN Manager and Director of Nursing, while completing designated tasks. We pride ourselves in careful selection of our team members, in order to provide the best quality of service to our patients.

OUR MISSION is to support to the hemodialysis community for newly diagnosed patients with acute kidney injury and maintenance treatment for those suffering from chronic kidney disease. Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent medical background preferred.
  • Minimum of one year and/or formal dialysis training.
  • Satisfactory professional references.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the English language and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Maintains the state mandated competency in Basic Cardiac Life Support, HIV basic course and yearly updates.
  • PCTs are required to be certified by a national certification organization as mandated in the CMS guidelines.

Patient Care Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe, effective delivery of Patient Care in compliance with standards outlined in the facility procedure manual, as well as regulations set forth by the facility, state, and federal agencies. Under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Responsible for the delivery of this care to assigned patients.
  • Provide treatment technique for assigned patients as prescribed. This includes all aspects of the hemodialysis procedure.
  • Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to the patient treatment. This information is documented by the technician in the appropriate patient record.
  • Participates as a multidisciplinary team member and communicates patient’s needs to ancillary departments as identified.
  • Report any significant information or change in patient condition to the Charge Nurse.
  • Familiarity with all emergency operational procedures.
  • Enters signature and credentials legibly on all charting per facility guideline.
  • Follows the facility policies for Safety and Emergency Procedures.
  • Maintains the state mandated competency in Basic Cardiac Life Support per American Heart Association, HIV basic course and yearly updates.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Able to safely operate all dialysis related equipment.
  • Able to provide minor trouble shooting when necessary.
  • Familiarity with all emergency equipment and ability to operate the equipment efficiency.

Staff related Responsibilities

  • Required to attend staff meeting as scheduled.
  • Participate in staff training and orientation as assigned under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and/or Clinical Manager and/or Medical Director.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Minimum of one year chronic dialysis experience in Nursing Home/SNF environment.
  • Data entry experience experience is preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to company software, and applications.

  • Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing / Clinical Manager.
