GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating clinical education with didactic education, evaluate and ensure that effectiveness of clinical experiences for the concentration(s) students are enrolled in; and provide clinical instruction and document the evaluation and progression of clinical performance leading to clinical competence. Responsible for the procurement, development, maintenance and evaluation of affiliated clinical sites.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews research and assessment and provides recommendation for program goals and alignment to industry certifications and programmatic accreditation, if necessary.
  • Reviews program architecture
  • Reviews program descriptions
  • Reviews program- and course-level objectives
  • Completes mapping of course level objectives to program level objectives, certification competencies, and accreditation curriculum requirements
  • Reviews and edits course syllabi, including course description, course level objectives, course topics, and course calendar
  • Reviews media options and selects media to be used as course resources
  • Develops course content and associated assignments, activities, presentations, projects, discussion questions, etc.
  • Designs and develops assessments to determine achievement of learning outcomes
  • Provides expert Diagnostic Medical Sonographer knowledge
  • Recommends necessary equipment and supplies for student use throughout the program
Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • 3 or more years’ work experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • Must hold a degree or certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • Must hold an Associates degree or higher
  • Must have an active Diagnostic Medical Sonography license or certification
  • Knowledge of industry certifications, specifically ARDMS and ARRT
  • Experience with programmatic accreditation (CAAHEP and/or JRCDMS)
  • Ability to meet project deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to evaluate, design, and implement curriculum, testing, and/or teaching methodologies.
  • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of teaching methods, curriculum, and education programs.
  • Teaching and facilitation skills.
  • Knowledge of academic and/or vocational education curricula.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant current education methodologies and techniques.
  • Ability to gather data, file information, and prepare reports.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Detailed oriented with strong administrative and customer service skills.
