About ECU Health Beaufort Hospital, a campus of ECU Health Medical Center
ECU Health Beaufort Hospital is located in Washington and serves as a campus ECU Health Medical Center, our Level I Trauma Center in Greenville. The 142-bed full-service hospital offers a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services including medical, surgical, intensive care, emergency, pediatrics and women’s services. In addition there is a lab, diagnostic imaging services, physical and respiratory therapy. The facility also features the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, offering leading-edge chemotherapy and radiation therapy, among other cancer services.
Position Summary
A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is a credentialed medical professional with academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The scope of practice includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience and completed ARDMS or ARRT (US) registration, which is the standard of practice in Ultrasound.
Minimum Requirements
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer I:
- High school or equivalent (or higher)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ARDMS or ARRT (US) registration required (physics and one specialty exam AB, OB/GYN) or registry eligible with registration obtained within 12 months of date of hire
- 0 years of experience as US technologist (sonographer)
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer II:
- High school or equivalent (or higher)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current ARDMS or ARRT (US) registration required (physics and one specialty exam AB, OB/GYN)
- 2 years of experience as US technologist (sonographer)
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer III:
- High school or equivalent (or higher)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current ARDMS or ARRT (US) registration required (physics and one specialty exam AB, OB/GYN)
- 5 years of experience as US technologist (sonographer)
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer IV:
- High school or equivalent (or higher)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ARDMS or ARRT (US) registration required (physics and one specialty exam AB, OB/GYN)
- 8 years of experience as US technologist (sonographer)
Other Information
- Primary Shift: Rotating
- Primarily 10:00am - 6:30pm; including weekends and holidays
- Schedules are subject to change based off business needs
- On Call: Yes
- Weekends: Yes
- Radiology-Ultrasound Department
- IMPORTANT: This position is listed as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer I, but based on the minimum requirements that are met, the applicant of choice will be hired as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer I, II, III or IV.
