Role Purpose:
Customers
• The main "customers" of the Divisional Finance Officer, Latin America - All Lines role are the Latin America CEO and Latin America CFO
Purpose
The purpose of the Divisional Finance Officer, Latin America - All Lines role is:
• To provide effective, hands-on, insightful, financial performance management and strategic business support to the LA CEO and LA CFO, on an ongoing basis.
• To work closely and effectively with:
• Latin America Line of Business Divisional Finance Officers (P&C, Consumer Lines & Life)
• Regional FP&A Leader
• Provide oversight of and coaching for Line of Business Divisional Finance Officers (P&C, Consumer Lines & Life)
• To compliment and expand on the current output from the existing Line of Business DFOs and the Regional FP&A Team, "upping the game" for both tactical and strategic performance management. This will include developing and implementing financial analytic tools, driving process improvement and automation, expanding the use of BI-enabled analytics and providing leadership on strategic proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. People / Stakeholder Management
• In the absence of a direct team supporting this role, it is essential that the incumbent had the emotional and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships in a matrix and / or informal organization structure across the Latin American organization, including with:
(i) Individual Line of Business Divisional Finance Officers (P&C, Consumer Lines and Life)
(ii) Regional FP&A Leader
(iii) Line of Business Leaders in each of the nine countries where Chubb Latin America has business operations.
(iv) Financial Planning & Analysis Leaders in each of the nine countries where Chubb Latin America has business operations.
(v) LA CFO
(vi) LA CEO
• Build and maintain an effective working relationship and coordination with other areas of the Latin America Regional team and Global COG / Life teams, including:
• Individual Lines of Business (P&C, Consumer Lines and Life),
• Finance, including Regional Financial Planning & Analysis, Regional Controllership and Regional Investment & Treasury teams and
• Actuarial
• Provide coaching and leadership to the LOB Divisional Finance Officers.
Role Profile - Chubb LATAM
2. Immediate Business Partnering responsibilities
• Participate with and support the Line of Business Divisional Finance Officers (P&C, Consumer Lines and Life), the Regional FP&A Leader and the LA CFO in their respective roles, including but not limited to the preparation and subsequent presentation of ongoing financial performance information, analysis and recommendations to:
• The Latin America Regional CEO,
• The Global Chubb Overseas General (COG) team and
• The Global Life Home Office team.
• Strategic Plan P&L Cycle
• Frequency: Once annually
• Actively participate in the Latin America Strategic Plan process.
• Work effectively with the Regional FP&A Leader and LOB Divisional Finance Officers (P&C, Consumer Lines and Life) in the preparation of the Strategic Plan, including but not limited to:
• Business reviews performed with each Country-based Life business team
• Review of Strategic Plan with Regional peers (Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, HR, Support Teams etc.).
• Preparation of insightful analytics and narrative to support the Strategic Plan.
• Preparation and subsequent presentation of the formal Strategic Plan document to (i) LA CEO & CFO, (ii) COG CEO / CFO / Home Office LOB teams and (iii) Global Life CEO & Team
• Coordinate effectively with support areas (Regional HR, Regional IT & Ops, Regional Controllership team) for common areas of the Strategic Plan process.
• Operating Plan P&L Cycle
• Frequency: Once annually
• Actively participate in the Latin America Operating Plan process
• Work effectively with the Regional FP&A Leader and LOB Divisional Finance Officers (P&C, Consumer Lines and Life) in the preparation of the Operating Plan, including but not limited to:
• Business reviews performed with each Country-based Life business team
• Review of Operating Plan with Regional peers (Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, HR, Support Teams etc.).
• Preparation of insightful analytics and narrative to support the Operating Plan.
• Preparation and subsequent presentation of the formal Operating Plan document to (i) LA CEO & CFO, (ii) COG CEO / CFO / Home Office LOB teams and (iii) Global Life CEO & Team
• Coordinate effectively with support areas (Regional HR, Regional IT & Ops, Regional Controllership team) for common areas of the Operating Plan process.
• Forecast P&L Cycles
• Frequency: 8 per annum
• Actively participate in the process for the preparation of each Latin America P&L Forecast.
• Work effectively with the Regional FP&A Leader and LOB Divisional Finance Officers (P&C, Consumer Lines and Life) in the preparation of the Operating Plan, including but not limited to:
• Business reviews performed with each Country-based Life business team
• Review of Operating Plan with Regional peers (Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, HR, Support Teams etc.).
• Preparation of insightful analytics and narrative to support each Forecast.
• Preparation and subsequent presentation of the formal Operating Plan document to (i) LA CEO & CFO, (ii) COG CEO / CFO / Home Office LOB teams and (iii) Global Life CEO & Team
• Fiscal Period P&L "Closing"
• Frequency: Monthly
• Work effectively with the Regional Controllership team, in a coordinated way with the LOB Divisional Finance Officers and the Regional FP&A team, in the process to formally "close" each fiscal period, including:
• Participation in the Region-wide "closing calls" run by the Regional Controllership team with each Local Operation in 9 countries
• LOB Divisional Finance Officer and Regional FP&A Analysis and understanding of the "Actual" results for the fiscal period being reported on
• Home Office Reporting
• Support the LOB Divisional Line of Business Officers and the Regional FP&A team with their respective responsibilities for all US GAAP P&L financial reporting and related business performance analysis from Latin America to (i) COG Home Office team and (ii) Global Life team
• Includes but is not limited to:
• Annual Strategic Plan
• Annual Operating Plan
• Forecast Cycles (8 per annum)
• Fiscal Period P&L Close (12 per annum)
• Ad hoc requests
3. Expanded responsibilities: Having gained an in-depth understanding of the current modus operandi of the LOB Divisional Finance Officers and the Regional FP&A Team, it is expected that the Divisional Finance Officer - All Lines will work to:
• Complement the existing output from these teams and further strengthen our business performance management.
• Provide additional detailed, meaningful, insight into business performance.
• Proactively anticipate trends, identify opportunities and potential issues
• "Up the game" for both tactical and strategic business performance management. This may include filling gaps, expanding / upgrading on current delivery, bringing best practices, expanding the use of analytics tools, and applying prior experience.
• Financial Analytic Tools: Design, implement and deliver analytical tools they provide timely insight and trend analysis across all P&L categories. To include Premium Roll Forwards, acquisition cost bridging and key expense analytics.
• Drive process improvement & automation: Lead and drive continued process improvement and adopt IT-enabled efficiencies into the day-to-day financial reporting processes for each Line of Business. Business partner effectively with LA FP&A and COG FP&A leadership on initiatives for FP&A process improvement and automation.
• BI-enabled Analytics: Work with LA FP&A, COG FP&A and LOB Leadership to drive a self-service BI-enabled curiosity of financial performance.
• Financial Strategy: Work with LOB leadership to develop, articulate and implement business strategies that align with financial goals. Lead on new business cases for individual LOBs, ensuring effective stakeholder management across executive levels and a structured and timely sign off process.

Knowledge: List the professional / academic qualifications required for the role.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance / Economics / Data Science.
• Preference for professional qualifications in Finance / Data Science / Actuarial fields.
Experience: State the amount of experience required to perform this role effectively. Include the size and scope of the experience (E.g. size of the organisation, number in the team, people management responsibilities etc.).
• 5-10 years "hands on" experience in Financial Planning & Analysis or similar, preferably in the insurance sector (Life and / or Property Casualty).
• Proven, strong financial management and analytical skills.
• Effective oral and written communication, in both English and Spanish.
• Experience with and ability to use end-user applications such as TM1, QlikSense, Power BI. Behaviour Requirements (Competencies; The 'How'): The Chubb Core Competencies are listed below. Select one of the options in each section. Please delete the ones that are not applicable.

4. Comfortable and with experience working in a matrix environment and / or an environment without formal reporting lines, where effective influencing skills are needed.
5. Proven, effective communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to produce concise, factual, "executive level" narrative and insightful commentaries. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with a variety of "audiences", tailoring message as appropriate.
