Job Title: Drug Screener / Medical Assistant
REPORTS TO: DFCS Program Manager
SUPERVISES: NONE
Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of the CEO and DFCS Manager. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments and help in maintaining medical records. Clinical duties may include administering drug screens, documenting medical histories and scheduling appointments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule & confirm appointments for consumers.
- Greet and log-in consumers when they arrive at office.
- Interview consumers to obtain medical information.
- Record consumers medical history and information such as, test results in medical records.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.
- Collect laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
- Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
- Dispose of contaminated supplies.
- Take inventory of medical supplies and submit orders.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED, certification as a Medical Assistant from an approved school or equivalent training and experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of clinical/medical terminology.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work carefully and precisely, with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports if necessary.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
Typical Working Conditions:
- Work is normally performed in the office and community.
- Nights and Evening work may be required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
