Devops Engineer - Locals Only(Orlando, Fl)

The DevOps Engineer will work within a team responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, monitoring, maintenance and deployment of infrastructures and applications used to support GolfNow’s Development, QA and Production environments. This includes streamlining, automating and performing application deployments, virtual instance configuration and optimization, configuration of supporting environments and engineering robust toolsets to support a highly available and responsive environment. Additional responsibilities include constant monitoring of systems alerts and ability to quickly troubleshoot, with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate recurring instances. The successful candidate will be a hands-on contributor with a versatile background in automation, build and deployment technologies, also having a passion for operations, believing anything can be automated and possess demonstrable experience in supporting disciplines relevant in meeting such operational goals.

• System monitoring, troubleshooting and tuning in Development, QA and production environments

• Analytical diagnosis of system events and alarms with emphasis on elimination of reoccurrence

• Possess strong knowledge of Windows PowerShell to write new, and refactor existing, scripts

• Work with external teams to break down complex infrastructure problems and drive resolution

• Develop tools to assist in automation of application deployments and monitoring of production environments

• Perform application deployments to development, QA and production environments

• Team Foundation Server administration

• Troubleshoot high transaction web based operations and environmental issues

• Application of common system administration tools and tasks based on Windows server architectures

• Apply programming/scripting knowledge in latest technologies contributing to operational efficiencies

• Leverage scripting and programming skills to develop custom tool integrations

• Apply practical experience in application deployment and software configuration management methodologies

• Possess eexcellent problem solving skills with an emphasis on continuous improvement

• Work with Operations, Development, QA and other teams to achieve high quality release management

• Continuously improve speed, efficiency and scalability of deployment tools and environments

• Clearly write technical specifications and effectively communicate across teams and roles

• Apply knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, highly available and responsive service

• Other assigned tasks

Qualifications/Requirements • 5+ years of technical expertise, primarily in, but not limited to .NET (C#) and ASP.NET

• 5+ years of experience in Windows PowerShell and other scripting languages, such as Python

• 5+ years of experience in systems integration within a .NET environment

• Experience in LAMP technologies

• Experience in full life cycle software development with .NET project experience

• Experience in Windows Server stack administration

• Experience working in a collaborative agile software engineering environment

• Experience in building and deploying large-scale .NET web applications

• Experience with automation/configuration management tools such as Puppet/Chef/Hudson

• Experience in administering source control systems (TFS) and branching policies

• Experience with VMWare ESXi, vCenter, vSphere and cloud computing platforms, such as RackSpace & AWS

• Experience with highly available / responsive systems

• Experience with continuous integration systems such as Hudson/Jenkins/TeamCity/Bamboo

• Knowledgeable in continuous integration / delivery / deploy best practices, processes and tools

• Knowledgeable in version control and software configuration management systems, such as TFS and Git

• Knowledgeable in common SCM practices, such as branching and code merges

• Familiarity with MS SQL and MySQL (NoSQL experience is a must, also)

• Familiarity with AWS

• Familiarity with MEAN stack

• Team player with strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

• Ability and desire to thrive in a fast paced client-services environment

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
