Seeking an enthusiastic and motivated team member to be a Development Tools Software Engineering Manager in the Quality and Reliability Models and Tools group (QRMT) which is part of Product Quality Network (PQN). The QRMT tool portfolio includes a variety of statistical and physics-based models and software tools that enable performance/power/reliability/cost optimization of Intel's microprocessors, chipsets, and platforms.

In this role, the candidate will manage a software development team and will work closely with technology development, product groups, and Q and R partners along with project owners to create detailed requirements on a variety of tools and participate in road mapping, project/feature prioritization, and highlight tool gaps/growth opportunities. As a Software Engineering Manager, the role includes developing QRMT's cloud strategy, future hardware needs, future proofing tools along with working with algorithms, simulations, analytical methods, data analysis and tools to provide fast and effective feedback for quality, reliability, and performance optimization, and risk assessments of Intel products.

An ideal candidate will have both SW engineering and project manager experience and be familiar with statistics and physical modeling problems. They will be interested in solving emerging technological challenges associated with product quality in the industry.

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

• Manage team of software developers.
• Ensure software best practices are followed.
• Manage details and roadmaps across a variety of projects.
• Focus on turning customer requests to well-designed project requirements to create maintainable software with a reportable cadence while also understanding the real problems these tools are used to solve.
• Facilitate tool validation and work with customer to drive conversion to new tools.
• Help with training and initial point of contact for issues.
• Be a strong team player.
• Be interested in furthering their and their team's areas of expertise through constant learning and training.

Qualifications

What we need to see (Minimum Qualifications):

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must possess at least one of the 2 following degrees plus the years of experience determined for each degree in the areas specified below:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related STEM degree with 4+ years of experience.

Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related STEM degree with 2+ years of experience.

• SW experience in modeling/reliability/quality/failure analysis or semiconductor manufacturing/development.
• Object-Oriented Programming (e.g. C#, .NET, C++), Design Patterns and also scripting such as Javascript and Python.
• Familiarity with cloud computing and best practices.
• Experience as a SW Project team lead for 3+ developers

Preferred Qualifications:

• Device simulation or transistor modeling/design or circuit simulation or compact model development
• Technical expertise on design of experiment development, data collection, data analysis.
• SW manager experience
• GIT or other tool for code repository and project maintenance
• Experience with CI/CD
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL. Experience with MYSQL, MS SQL Server, and Mongo DB is a plus.
• Web design and development, web services, RESTful API, MVC, and development practices.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $162,228.00-$243,284.00

• Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
