Job Description:
As a Development Marketing Associate, you will play a crucial role in our organization's fundraising and outreach efforts. You will work closely with the Director of Development to develop and execute marketing strategies aimed at building donor relationships, raising awareness, and driving engagement with our programs and initiatives. Your creativity, attention to detail, and passion for our mission will be essential in achieving our fundraising goals and advancing our mission.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize your thorough understanding of development fundamentals to assist the Director of Development in developing marketing strategies.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development on brand management initiatives to ensure consistency and effectiveness across all marketing channels.
- Generate compelling content from various departments for use in marketing materials and campaigns.
- Manage and grow social media coverage for departments, engaging with followers to foster a sense of community and support.
- Create visually appealing marketing materials using graphic design software to effectively communicate our message and impact.
- Implement digital marketing campaigns to raise awareness, drive engagement, and encourage donations or participation in events.
- Collaborate with event organizers to promote fundraising events through various marketing efforts.
- Develop communication strategies to nurture relationships with donors and stakeholders.
- Update the DHR website with current information, content, and donation opportunities to maximize online engagement.
- Prepare and implement marketing efforts targeting individuals, caregivers, and school district transition staff.
- Attend virtual and in-person events to build awareness of DHR programs and initiatives.
- Promote the volunteer program through social media, email communications, and phone calls to recruit and retain volunteers.
- Lead virtual and in-person outreach events with confidence and professionalism.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and decorum in all interactions and communications.
- Independently manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and achieving desired outcomes.
- Stay informed about trends and best practices in marketing, fundraising, and nonprofit management to continuously improve our strategies and approaches.
- Collaborate closely with other members of the development team and other departments to align marketing efforts with fundraising goals and organizational priorities.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the overall success of the organization.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in development fundamentals, donor relationship building, and marketing strategy development.
- Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to create visually appealing marketing materials.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing tactics and strategies, including social media management and email marketing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas and information.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- A passion for our mission and a commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
- Previous experience working in a nonprofit or fundraising environment is preferred but not required.
- Comfortable with virtual and in-person engagement, including public speaking and event participation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
