Program Description
Title: Development and Grants Coordinator
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Primary function:
The Development Coordinator will be responsible for finding, receiving and obtaining Club or consumer needed items, funds to support the Club, and long-range planning dollars. Will also maintain a strong presents in the community through networking and stewardship.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
- Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes by promoting and stimulating program participation; registering new members, and participate in their Club orientation process; provide guidance and role modeling to members.
- Will assist in developing a fundraising plan annually that correlates with the Clubs strategic plan and annual budget. The plan will include, but not be limited to: grants, special event fundraising, deferred gifts, and needed items.
- Work toward finding funding sources that meet the needs of the club and serving our youth members.
- Responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of all applications, interim and final reports that Development Coordinator is responsible for.
- Enhance the visibility of the Club in the community and seek to strengthen relationships with potential donors.
- Will participate in public relations, public education and general public about the Club and the children we serve.
- Promote and market the Club in a professional manner. Provide a better understanding of issues confronting the Club to various groups, meetings and conferences.
- Responsible for communicating with Club management on needed items.
- Prepare periodic activity reports related to development as requested.
- Oversees the billing or collection of funds from sponsors, pledges etc.
- Ensure design and development of public relations documents for use in the promotion of fundraising, and education of the public, including press releases.
- Ensure the development and distribution of marketing documents. Responsibilities include the planning and implementation of:
- Will assist with the up-keep and reporting in Donor Data Base.
- Develop and maintain a positive relationship with our donors/partners.
- Work as team member interdependently and facilitate other staff to do the same.
- Follow operational policies and procedures developed by the club. (Emergencies-Severe weather, Fire, Health and Safety, Nutrition, staff training guidelines)
- Participate in all mandatory training and meetings of the club.
- Participate in special programs and or events.
- May be required to drive Club van.
- Perform other duties as assigned to accomplish Club goals. This could be under unusual or emergency circumstances.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Dependable and self-motivated
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be flexible in all areas
- Ability to deal with the general public.
- Marketing knowledge including PSA development
- Ability to work in social media outlets, and flyer software
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Qualifications
- Prefer one year experience working in development field. Expereince writing and reporting on grants. Must have a valid driver’s license, and proof of current auto insurance.
Physical requirements/work environment:
As a routine part of this position staff must be able to bend, twist, stoop and kneel to perform the essential functions of the position.
