The In-N-Out Burger Community Engagement team has an excellent opportunity for a Development & Fundraising Manager, out of our Irvine, CA* office. This position reports to the Community Engagement Department Head and will be a team member of the Community Engagement Department, which includes the In-N-Out Burger Foundation, Slave 2 Nothing Foundation, Fundraising and Volunteer teams.
The Community Engagement Team exists to magnify the impact of In-N-Out Burger on the communities where we live, work and do business. We enable our associates and vendors to live out the third part of the mission statement to make our communities stronger safer and better by inviting them into the work we are doing with their time, treasure and talents.
*This position is full-time, in-office only
General Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic fundraising plan focused on enlarging and diversifying the donor base (individual and institutional)
  • Identify new donors and conduct research on fundraising opportunities, while soliciting funding in new and creative ways
  • Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to the Fundraising team
  • Partner with In-N-Out Burger Foundation and Slave 2 Nothing Executive Directors to establish immediate and long-term fundraising goals
  • Direct and oversee effective database management of all donor records, specifically building out campaigns with Salesforce marketing tool
  • Oversee the charitable Events Supervisor and team; provide direction and support while contributing to their continued growth and development
  • Develop and manage company-wide giving opportunities
  • Professionally represent In-N-Out Burger with businesses, non-profits, foundations, grant makers, and the broader community as needed (i.e. attend fundraising events and speaking engagements)
  • Develop strong working relationships both within and outside the company with organizations and vendors, as an extension of the Foundations and overall Community Engagement Department

Work Schedule + Benefits
  • Full-time, Exempt
  • Pay Range is $105,000 - $145,000 annually
    The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors.
  • Office Hours in Irvine, CA: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
  • Department needs will call for occasional evenings and weekends
  • Travel time: It is anticipated that 10-20% of the work time will be spent onsite at fundraising and Community Engagement events; out of state travel may be required

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Fundraising, Communications, Administration, or relevant field; required (Master's is preferred)
  • 5+ years' experience with non-profit fundraising; required
  • 5+ years' experience in a Supervisory/Management/Leadership role; required
  • Strong proficiency in fundraising best practices and strategies
  • Experience in development of donor programs, including donor marketing, donor care, and company giving programs; preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Advanced knowledge of fundraising software
  • Intermediate knowledge of payment processing and CSR software (donor database)
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
  • Prior experience leading a team, providing a path for career development, and the desire and ability to provide direct reports with training and tools to grow and succeed
  • Highly adaptable with excellent time-management, organization, and follow-through skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate the foundation mission to associates, donors, volunteers, and the community
  • Proven ability to network and build relationships; proven track record in securing funds from various sources, foundations, trusts, and major donors
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while exercising discretion and good judgment
  • Willingness to travel as needed (10-20%), both local and out-of-state

ABOUT the Community Engagement department
The In-N-Out Burger Foundation was established in 1995 with the goal of raising funds to assist abused and neglected children in the communities where we live and do business.
In 2016, the Slave 2 Nothing Foundation was established to educate and assist in solutions to eliminate human trafficking as well as focus on those needing treatment, rehabilitation and prevention from drug/alcohol abuse. Our Fundraising Team supports both foundations with small and large scaled fundraising efforts as well as collaborating with Community Impact on volunteer opportunities for our In-N-Out Burger Associates and their families.
